8 Reasons Why Every Adventurous Girl Should Date A Quiet Guy

by Amy Haywood

Adventurous girls are often a little loud, a little reckless and a lot of fun. We aren't comfortable with a routine and are constantly looking for the next “best thing,” whether that's a new bar, a new band or a new job.

We like to be busy and tend to gravitate toward the quiet guy in the crowd. He’s a little mysterious and seems like a lot of fun to playfully mess with.

If he looks even a little bit socially awkward, we pounce. And, so far, this method isn’t too shabby; it can result in a fun romance.

Here are some reasons why the quiet guy is worth going after:

He listens… really well.

He doesn’t mind if you vent endlessly about that one snobby coworker or friend.

He’s pretty understanding and just likes to hear what you have to say, even when your rants get so irrational they are borderline hilarious. He smiles and nods, and sometimes lets out small chuckles.

He’s observant.

He knows your favorite drink just by going out with you and watching. He’ll bring you Diet Coke for no reason or maybe your favorite candy bar. He pays attention to your little quirks.

He’s not a mind reader (because no one is), but he is attentive and is more perceptive than he lets on.

He enjoys being out of his comfort zone as long as he’s beside you.

You’re always doing something new, which can be kind of scary or bizarre to people who aren’t the same way. You live on the edge of your comfort zone and he enjoys living there, alongside you.

You sexually awaken him.

He has no idea what he’s gotten himself into. He needs to prepare himself for sexy texts and even sexier one-on-one time. He's probably never met a girl like you. It's fun to watch his reactions to your flirtatious advances and teases.

He just loves being around you, even if that means sometimes taking a backseat role.

He knows that you’re independent and not the traditional relationship type way. Your understanding of couples is the act of two individuals choosing to date, not the sudden morphing of two humans. So when you’re out with friends, he’s fine letting you go. He doesn’t need to be attached.

He’s full of surprises.

He surprises you by how respectful and considerate he is to you. This might be new for you because you’ve dealt with some jerks and are hesitant to let someone treat you like a queen. Don’t worry, though, he’s worth it.

He opens up to you, and only you.

He doesn’t express his true feelings to everyone, so people probably only know very vague information about him. It didn’t take him long to open up to you because you’re free spirited.

Your friends feel comfortable around him.

They don’t mind that he sometimes accompanies you and the girls. They don’t mind that he comes on road trips or goes to play video games at his house or is just lazy with all of you. You two have a comfortable and relaxed relationship, so most people want to join in on the sweet vibe.

It’s easy to get carried away by smooth talkers and loud, funny men. But the next time you’re out, pay attention to the boy in the crowd who is smiling, listening to his friends. He doesn’t need to be the center of attention, but is always part of the party.

You might miss him when you first survey the room, but you definitely won’t the second time around. Unbeknownst to you, adventurous girl, falling for him might be your biggest adventure yet.
