Ring Of Fire: 8 Things To Know Before Dating An Aries Man Or Woman

If you clicked on this article, you either are an Aries yourself, are dating an Aries or are a smart soul who simply wants to know more about the fantastic creatures us Aries are.

First of all, congrats! In my humble opinion, we are the first and best zodiac sign out there. Although now that you're involved, there are quite a few things you should know about us.

While we are incredible people to love and be loved by, I've come up with a list of eight things to know and abide by while being involved with an Aries. It's simply for your own safety and well-being.

Print it out, tape it to your fridge, carry it with you everywhere and buckle up:

1. We're rams.

First and foremost, the animal equivalent to our sign is the ram.

The ram may not be the most majestic and aesthetically pleasing animal on earth, but damn, do we know how to lead the pack! The ram has long been a symbol of determination, leadership, authority and initiative in various ancient histories and cultures.

If you've ever worked on a project with a group of people, you can bet your ass the person who took charge, delegated positions and (for lack of a better phrase) "got sh*t done" was an Aries.

2. We're aggressive.

Mars, the "God of War," is our ruling planet, which means that we have a "show no mercy/take no prisoners" attitude toward life. I've been told I am "aggressive" more times than I've probably blinked.

We say what we feel, and bear no filter when we do it.

While the rest of you keep everything bottled up, us Aries lay it all out in the open. Whatever is on our mind is coming out of our mouth. We also encompass this trait by getting what we want.

Whether it's a person, a job or even that last slice of pizza, you may want to step aside and get out of the way for your own well-being.

3. We're fiery.

Not only are we fire signs, we're the first fire sign. Quite literally, this means we are red hot, impulsive and passionate.

Like fire, we don't stop and wait for anyone or anything. Sure, we may not think before we act out, but that just means you'll always have someone who's ready to go at any waking moment.

Our fire is what makes us so passionate in everything we do, which (by the way) makes us fantastic lovers (if I do say so myself).

If you want to rack in some points with an Aries, do the following: ask us on adventurous dates, plan crazy road trips on a whim and surprise us with spontaneous sex.

4. We're impatient.

As a fire sign, Aries have a lot of rambunctious energy.

If we don't have an outlet for this energy, it gets bottled up, which usually results in a bigger explosion.

Aries have no patience, and I mean literally zero.

Want to ask us on a date? Be there on time. Want to pick me up? Be there on time. Want to do literally anything with an Aries? Be there on time.

Do not keep us waiting.

And don't even get me started on rush hour traffic, the grocery store line or the waiting room in a doctor's office.

5. We get bored easily.

Aries have ADD with life in general. We get bored easily, and if you aren't keeping us entertained, we will be on to the next before you can blink an eye.

This goes for our relationships, school, jobs, food, music, basically anything. The good news is, it won't be hard to tell if your Aries is getting bored with you.

6. We need you to respect our freedom.

Now that you know we're leaders, aggressive and full of passion, it should be obvious we are extremely independent creatures. And with this immense independence comes a phobia of dependence.

Nothing will drive an Aries away faster than being a stage-five clinger, or actually, any stage clinger. It's difficult for an Aries to commit.

This isn't to say that an Aries won't commit, but we need a partner who will run with us in our endeavors, not drag us down.

In modern terms, we need someone who has his or her sh*t together. Success and determination are extremely attractive qualities to us, and we want someone who will respect our need for separate lives.

7. We're loyal and slightly overprotective.

Aries are extremely protective and loyal to friends, family and loved ones. Once you become a part of our "pack," we will literally ram (get it?) anyone or anything that tries to hurt the ones we care for.

But in all seriousness, if we don't have the biological attributes to physically hurt you, don't doubt for a second we won't destroy you verbally. Confrontation is our thing.

This means the enemies of our friends and family are also our enemies. Now, don't say I didn't warn you.

8. We will love you hard.

If, by some miracle, you are lucky enough to get an Aries to fall in love with you, believe me, you will know.

This list has given you the good, the bad and the ugly. But despite some of our faults, we will love you with the deepest affection and devotion. All of our energy, fire and passion somehow add up to make us incredible creatures to love and be loved by.

It may take some time and patience for your Aries to let you in, but once we do, we promise to make it worth your while.
