Exes Share Their Awkward Stories Of Running Into Each Other After They Broke Up

Is there anything more awkward than running into an ex? I really don't think so.

I've talked about how I don't understand that concept of breaking up with someone a million times before, and I'm pretty sure 99 percent of my masochistic need to stay friends with my exes is to ensure that running into them isn't awkward.

I hate awkwardness. I don't handle it well.

In fact, I would go so far as to say that I handle it horribly. I'm one of those people who will start talking and not be able to stop. Maybe I'll start stuttering like that kid you made fun of in the fifth grade. So, yeah, I'll go out of my way to stay friends with you as a means of ensuring that doesn't happen.

But that's just my take on things.

Plenty of people break up all the time, and those people go ahead and completely cut their exes out of their lives cold turkey.

Then, they run into their exes out of the blue and live my absolute worst nightmare of an awkward, unfriendly encounter.

Read through these confessions of 18 people about the times they ran into their exes.

She told him about how great she's doing.

She threw her chicken sandwich at his car.

She slept with his best friend and she doesn't regret it.

He was so flustered.

She thought he looked horrible.

He's so glad he ended that relationship.

They had the hottest sex.

She's overweight now.

She pretended to be distracted on her phone.

His ex legit ran away.

His ex thought he was seeing someone.

Her ex says he doesn't remember her...

He asked how he let her get away.

She's glad he didn't see her.

They both got hotter.

He avoided eye contact by all means.

She was on a date with her new boyfriend.

She AND her boyfriend both ran into their exes.
