What A Guy’s First Date Suggestion Says About The Type Of Boyfriend He’ll Be
You can learn a lot about a guy on your first date. You can tell by the conversation if he seems to be a really awesome person or a conceited, cocky jerk you can't wait to ditch.
Is he confident in himself and motivated AF? Is he really paying attention to what you're saying, or is he consistently repeating his questions?
Are there major chemistry vibes going on?
You learn if he has a great relationship with his parents, if he has a solid group of friends or if he's a hardcore stage-five clinger.
*casually contemplates dining and dashing*
This statement couldn't be more true: You never get a second chance at making a great first impression.
No pressure, guys, but if you screw up the first date, you may very well be toast. She'll quickly (and happily) move on to the next dude.
But hey, the feeling might end up being mutual.
The first date a guy suggests to take a girl on actually says a ton about the kind of boyfriend he'll be.
1. If You Go Out To Dinner
The guy who suggests a dinner date will be the boyfriend with so much class and style. He's outgoing and super intrigued by you, and he wants to learn more.
He's also investing time and money because he wants to.
Don't get me wrong: Bars are awesome, but nothing beats getting to know someone over a delicious dinner, in a quieter setting... complete with wine, of course.
2. If You Go To The Movies
The guy who suggests a movie date will be the boyfriend who's not much of a talker.
He's most likely super uncomfortable with new situations. He will probably think of himself before he thinks about you.
This kind of date shows he wanted to see that movie, but wasn't really thinking about getting to know you at all.
Sure, movie dates are romantic and cozy later on in your relationship.
But on a first date, when you want to get to know him? Not so much.
3. If You Grab Coffee
A first date over coffee makes me want to say WTF?! There isn't really anything romantic about it.
The guy who suggests grabbing coffee will be the boyfriend who's not very original. He's also one to play it safe: no risks involved.
You can expect that when you're in a relationship with this guy, the dates will involve a lot more coffee... but not a ton of adventure or spontaneity.
#Boring.
4. If You Hit Up A Bar
The bar situation depends on whether you're meeting one another for the first time. If so, it's a ton of fun to laugh over a few beers.
But if it's your first official date and he's suggesting you “hang out” at a bar, it may be a sign he's a player. He'll be the boyfriend who wants to play all the time, but he will never be there when you really need him to be.
If you're sick, he'd probably rather go out with his friends and flirt with girls at the bar than bring you soup and stay in to watch a movie.
5. If You Go To His Friend's Party
This is a whole lot of NOPE for a first date. It's way too soon to meet his friends.
This guy will be the boyfriend who's probably super selfish and always makes you a last-minute thought.
He already had plans he didn't want to cancel or miss out on, and he thought he'd bring you along.
Totally not cool.
6. If You Have A Unique Date (Maybe Even On A Boat)
The guy who suggests taking you on a super creative date makes for a spontaneous and thoughtful boyfriend. He likes to take charge, and that's oh-so sexy.
He knows what he wants and goes for it.
Whether it's going on his boat for a picnic, going to a music festival or teaching you how to surf, you'll always be able to count on him to bring fun to the table.
When you go on a date, it's a natural reaction on both sides to make a mental checklist from start to finish. By the end of the night, you may even rate how your date played out on a scale of one to 10.
Did you have the time of your life, or was it a hard fail?
And overall, is there potential down the road for a relationship due to his choice in a first date?
