All Girls Want A Nice Guy, They Just Don't Know It Yet

by Stephanie Barbarino

For years, men had the reputation of being the culprits when it came to messing up relationships and not settling down. But that's no longer the case. More and more women are pushing back the wedding date and picking up the vodka.

There's nothing wrong with that: Everyone is entitled to settle down when he or she chooses fit. That said, it has come to my attention that the nice guys I know are starting to believe women would rather be single or treated terribly.

Gents, I'm here to tell you this is not the case. You may put on the tough guy facade, but the truth is, you're going home, crawling into bed and wishing you had someone to hold.

It's not you. It's us. But it's you who should actually be thankful for this.

Don't worry. Your day will come. In the meantime, here are five reasons you shouldn't panic:

1. We like to party.

Today, women are more career-oriented, wild and free. There's no longer a timeline that we, as females, need to abide by. If we want to have kids and get married at 20, that's great. If we can't even think about settling down until we're 35, that's OK too.

For the first time in history, women can do as they please. The flip side to this is, we're not concentrating on finding the best guy for life. We're just looking for the best guy for the moment.

Living it up, staying out all night and working all day is how many women are living their lives, and they are loving it. Don't take it personally. It's like we've all just turned 21, and we now have free roam of the land.

2. We're focused.

It doesn't matter how tough a woman is. When she falls in love, she turns into mush.

Mush is great. Mush is cuddling. Mush is sweet and adorable.

But mush has no place in a corporate office. When a woman falls in love, everything else in her life becomes a second priority. So when you're trying to launch your career, a guy can be a major hinderance.

There's a reason we resort to sweatpants, wine and Netflix on Friday nights. Building an empire can be draining, and until a woman is where she wants to be, she may not make time for anything else in her life.

3. We still want the bad boy.

Believe me when I tell you this will not last forever. We want the guy who is rough around the edges, and the one who just doesn't give a f*ck.

Why do we want this? We have no f*cking idea.

All it does is cause heartache and tears. The fact that we're fully aware of this may indeed make us crazy, but we'll still going to tell you we're not. If a woman is still going through her bad boy phase, don't waste your time.

Most women grow out of it once they realize bad boys are just boys. We want men.

Let it run its course. We don't expect you to understand because we don't understand it ourselves. By the time we have run through all the sh*theads, we realize we need real men.

A man is someone who won't play games. He won't even make us question our trust or love.

Good guys, you deserve that. Nothing less.

Don't ever fall for the friend zone BS that someone may try to feed you. When a woman is smart enough and lucky enough to know your worth, you'll be happy the other ones never did.

4. Maybe she's just a bitch.

Women and bad boys is the same as men and bitches. You want them because there is something sexy about them.

Here's a reality check: If your lady friend is talking down to your friend's child, yelling at you in front of your family or doesn't appreciate anything you do, you need to leave.

If you don't feel as if your woman is treating you like a king, then don't you dare treat her like a queen. Leave that bitch and go find your Kate Middleton.

There's a difference between loving and settling for safety. Don't do it.

5. Nice people find other nice people.

Yes, after all the time and struggle, you're going to meet someone who is just as amazing as you are. The rest will be history. There are amazing women out there who are praying for a great, wholesome and sincere gent to come along.

You're not going to find each other on Tinder, so cut that sh*t out. Go out and talk to someone you find beautiful.

Just do it. It's true what they say: Beauty on the inside radiates out. Once you compare notes about how terrible the dating world has been, you'll be ready to settle down.

It will happen. Don't give up.

Nice guys may finish last, but that means they don't have to go through the drama and heartache of someone not reciprocating their love. Embrace last place because you'll finish first in love.
