Last week, we closely examined the drinking habits of people by their zodiac sign and this week we are going to take a look into the dating habits of these people. Is this a vast generalization? Is this a hard truth?

Or is it a load of bullsh*t like I believe? Regardless if you think astrology is BS or that it is your inevitable fate, one thing remains constant: people love astrology -- either they love to hate it or they love to live by it.

Your personality plays the essential and central role in the dating process. It is what draws your attraction to another person and keeps you engaged in their presence.

As in life, there are certain qualities that you never wish for a potential partner to exhibit while there are others you demand they possess. Your astrological sign can serve as an indicator of your personality traits, so let's take a look how those can be applied in a dating sense.

Aries (March 20 to April 19)

If you are going to date an Aries, you are in for a real thrill, as these strong, driven and motivated individuals are people to be admired. Their motivation to work is a great quality, but under the wrong circumstances, they can become overly competitive and quick tempered. Having a temper in a relationship can be quite detrimental as these people often have a difficult time admitting their faults and they take too long to apologize.

Aries are self-reliant and don't need someone else to bring them happiness, as they are more than fine doing that on their own. You think they can't find someone better than you? Think again. They like to have the upper hand in the relationship, so be careful before they replace you.

Taurus (April 20 to May 20)

A Taurus would make a great counterpart, as they are well known for their stable, reliable and dependable demeanor. What more could you ask for in a partner? Those sound like all of the perfect qualities to look for in a mate. The downfall of a Taurus, however, is that they can be quite materialistic and greedy by nature. What's even worse is that they are known to be the most stubborn and inflexible of all the astrology signs. Hmm, better think again before you start dating a Taurus. What looks great at first can quickly change as soon as an argument arises.

Gemini (May 21 to June 20)

Perhaps one of the most social signs, a Gemini will always be a good time as they are natural conversationalists and always want to make sure others are enjoying themselves. However, on the flipside, a Gemini tends to have a very flip-floppy nature, causing them to change their demeanor at the drop of a hat. You never really know what you're in for when dating a Gemini, so it's always important to remain aware of their inconsistent demeanor.

The personality of a Cancer is calm and quiet and craves harmony. Those are great qualities to have in a relationship, as this person will keep any problems that may arise at a minimum and between the couple. They will not go out and flaunt their personal business so that they may maintain as much peace as possible. As great as that sounds, they are also known for being emotional to the point of clingy, which can be suffocating in relationships. Relationships are the most important things to Cancers, who are generous and wholehearted lovers. With every good trait comes a bad, but in this case the positives vastly outweigh the negatives.

Leo (July 23 to August 23)

The attention-seeking nature of a Leo can either serve as a huge turn on or turn off in the romantic sense. They possess a strong sense of self and exude confidence in every situation they are in. Their confidence can sometimes be overbearing as they always feel the need to be the center of attention. They will demand constant flattery and attention from their partner and will always want to be the dominant partner. Never try to win an argument with a Leo, as chances are you can't.

Virgo (August 24 to September 22)

On one hand, a Virgo is committed to whatever area they wish to pursue at the time, but on the other hand, they can be dependent. This type of person will approach a relationship in an unselfish way and make sure you are content. They will give their all, which is a very desirable trait in a partner. They also possess a strong sense of humor -- it seems you really can't go wrong dating a Virgo.

A Libra has a strong moral compass, which is an admirable trait in a counterpart. They possess a strong sense of what is right and what is wrong, as they strive for balance in every aspect of life. When arguing with a Libra, they will keep a level head and try to see each side of the argument -- well isn't that a breath of fresh air in a relationship? Even better, they are extremely social and extroverted. The worst trait a Libra can possess is apathy – hey, they make up for it with their loyal and fair tendencies.

Scorpio (October 23 to November 21)

Scorpios possess some of the most intense and intricate personalities of all the zodiac signs, which makes engaging in a relationship with them quite tedious. They lack tolerance to the point of behaving in a cruel manner and a Scorpio will become defensive when you question their motives. The plus side of dating a Scorpio is that they are very private people and dedicate themselves to their relationships. Another positive is that they tend to be low-maintenance and helpful.

Sagittarius (November 22 to December 21)

These people have one thing (and one thing only) on their minds: love. A Sagittarius is the most easygoing and straightforward of all the astrology signs. These are amazing qualities that almost everyone desires in a partner. They have the ability to bounce back from negative situations without allowing it to dampen their mood. The only downside to a Sagittarius is that they can become hot headed.

Capricorn (December 22 to January 19)

Perhaps the most commendable quality that a Capricorn possesses is the fact that they have an amazing inner strength that allows them to rise above animosity. They are extremely reasonable even amidst chaos, which makes them a great partner. Although not the most spontaneous of people, in a relationship a Capricorn will remain stable and loyal. Be careful though because if you are not a strong and confident person, a Capricorn will not tolerate you for long.

Aquarius (January 20 to February 18)

An Aquarius is known for their out of the box ways of thinking, which can be quite exciting in a relationship. The best part about being in a partnership with this person is that they will accept your flaws without trying to change them. Honestly, what more could you want in a partner other than someone who accepts you for the true person that you are?

Pisces (February 19 to March 20)

Pisces make for great lovers, as they are very patient and sensitive people. They are deeply caring and will be fully invested in whatever relationships they are in. Partners love having a Pisces in their lives as they will go to great lengths to make them happy. There really does not seem to be a downside to dating a Pisces.
