And you thought YOUR parents were embarrassing.

by Candice Jalili

Parents are embarrassing. There's no two ways about it.

From meeting your junior year prom date only to exclaim, "I've heard so much about you!" to making you use a booster seat in the car for way longer than it was cool (OK, maybe that was just a me thing), parents make life annoying sometimes.

We've all been embarrassed by our parents at one point or another. And if you try to tell me your parents never embarrassed you, well, I don't believe you.

It's honestly one of the best parts of growing up. Their taunting is what gives you your thick skin when people are making fun of you as a full-grown adult.

And when that thick skin comes in handy, you get to think to yourself, "Well, at least I brought this shame upon myself and it wasn't inflicted upon me by mom screaming out the carpool window that she can't wait to snuggle me as soon as I get home."

That being said, there are different levels of embarrassment.

Code green: mom making you wear that ugly sweater to the Christmas party.

Code yellow: having both of your parents making you pose outside of the car on the first day of high school for pictures, "First day of school!" sign and all.

Code orange: dad trying to give your prom date a "talking to" about safe sex.

CODE RED: You find out your mom is a porn star.

To be clear, I have nothing against the women in the adult film industry. I think it's groovy that they do what they do.

But I think we can all agree that the day you find (or your friends find) a video of your mom porking some dude on the internet... well, that's a day you're not going to forget for a long while.

A new Reddit thread asked people to share the times they found out their parents were involved in porn.

And, boy, did they deliver.

So, next time your mom comments one too many times on your ex-boyfriend's profile picture, just be thankful that your friends aren't jerking off to videos of her doing the dirty.
