This Hoverboard Ballet Routine Is Weirdly Entrancing

by Gillian Fuller

Remember in the movie “WALL-E” how all the humans turn into motionless, lazy lumps because technology makes it so that they don't actually have to move their bodies, ever? (If you haven't seen the movie, uh, spoiler alert).

Well, friends, it looks like that day is quickly coming: Hoverboard dancing is now a thing.

In this video, an unidentified dancer performs a ballet routine to “Clair de Lune” whilst perched atop a hoverboard, because why move your legs if you don't have to?

The techy dance performance is actually pretty mesmerizing, and also slightly creepy, but most of all, it's sad — what ever happened to “if it ain't broke, don't fix it”?

Humans are weird.
