The 10 Biggest TMZ False Reports
TMZ has been the center of the spotlight recently and for all the wrong reasons. Yeah, those idiots you watch on their terrible Fox Television program apparently made yet another blunder, announcing Lil’ Wayne’s critical condition and impending death last Friday.
This turned out to be a false report as rapper T.I. said it best calling them, “f*ck n*ggas.” Mind you, this is the same site that decided to post a grizzly video of a young Los Angeles man get shot to death last month and now they pull this.
Pretty disappointing considering this is a nationally recognized site that influences some poor souls dumb enough to log on to their domain. And this horrible journalism, or lack thereof, could be credited to none other than their staff full of morons.
But whatever anything to sell a headline, right? These are the 10 Biggest TMZ False Reports.
10. TMZ Reports Miley Cyrus Dies In A Car Accident
On September 5, 2008, a false TMZ article spread around the web claiming that Miley Cyrus had died in a terrible car accident This was quickly debunked, as Miley performed in concert the following Friday. Fans were confused and TMZ was forced to correct this error.
9. Eddie Griffin Threatens TMZ Lawsuit Over Assault Claim
In 2012 TMZ ran with the title, "Eddie Griffin Assaults Woman At His Show In CA." This was far from the truth as video clearly shows that he only liquid was thrown and he never hit anyone. They quickly changed that headline to "Eddie Griffin Gets Into Drink-Throwing Fight During His Own Show." Griffin sued TMZ for not only false reporting but calling labeling him as a homophobic in their report.
8. TMZ mistakes Greg Oden for LeBron James
It was a case of mistaken identity, but how do you mix up LeBron James for Greg Oden? Sure it was one of their idiot white reporters who made the mix up but it's just making them look stupid... and racist. On sperate occasion TMZ also confused a member of J. Cole's entourage for J. Cole himself. Imbeciles.
7. Kasey Kahl Sues TMZ For 'False' Report That He Huffed Paint Thinner
Although Kasey Kahl ( a contestant on The Bacherlorette) may not be as notable as others on this list, TMZ let out some pretty explosive claims about the D-list reality star. They reported that since the show, he lost his mind going on drunken rampages and was even huffing paint thinners. Kasey immediately called them out for these false reports and was forced to sue.
6. TMZ False Report on Soulja Boy Picked Up Nationally
TMZ spread another national rumor about rapper Soulja Boy purchasing a $55 million jet in 2012. They reported that he paid $35 million for the plane itself and an additional $20 million to trick out the luxury bird for his birthday. A bunch of news sites used this story as it went viral across the country. This was found out to be a hoax and TMZ once again looked stupid.
5. TMZ Puts Tiffany Foxx In Two Places…At The Same Damn Time!
Last year TMZ did an all-out story about recording artist Tiffany Six getting into a crazy brawl in a New York nail salon. There was video evidence however there was only one problem. It wasn't her. That's right, TMZ once again thinks all black people look the same and made a ridiculous story out of nothing... again.
4. TMZ Tricked Into Posting False Photo of Whitney Houston's Body
TMZ got tricked into posting the wrong photo of Whitney Houston after her body was discovered at the Beverly Hilton hotel last month, Forbes reports. The gossip site posted an "exclusive" photo showing Houston being carried out of her hotel room on a gurney and covered in a white sheet on Feb. 11, but it wasn't Houston. It actually turned out to be Whitney's daughter who was trying to sneak out of the hotel without anyone seeing her. That's a pretty bizarre story in itself but whatever.
3. TMZ Retracts Janet Jackson Slap Story
Last year TMZ reported that Janet Jackson slapped her niece Paris, daughter of Michael, and called her a "spoiled little bitch." Soon after they were forced to take down this story and issue an apology to Janet after she got her lawyers involved. Yet another pathetic attempt to sell a headline by TMZ.
2. TMZ Admits Publishing Fake Photo of JFK
In 2009 TMZ posted a dramatic photo of who was said to be JFK partying on a boat with some topless young ladies. The labeled it, "The Photo That Could Have Changed History." The photo turned out to be from a 1967 Playboy spread and they once again... looked like complete morons.
1. Lil Wayne's Impending Death
This was probably the lowest TMZ has stooped in recent memory. Just last week they shocked music fans everywhere, claiming that Lil' Wayne, who suffers from seizures, was in critical condition and in the process of receiving his last rights. This had people everywhere in a frenzy thinking that the self-proclaimed "best rapper alive" was on his death bed. Thanks to Twitter, some of Wayne's closes friends shut down all of these rumors and the rap star himself even tweeted that he was just fine. No one found this to be a laughing matter. Good friend T.I. called out TMZ on this idiotic mistake and said this on his Twitter, "Just holla'd @my Lil bruh Tunechi...& he skraight! TMZ some fuck-niggaz for reporting that hoe-ass-shit!!! That man daughter is like mines."
