On Wednesday night, Adele made a beautiful speech at the 2016 Brit Awards when she accepted Best British Female Solo Artist.

It was the first award of the night.

She began her speech by saying,

To come back after so long away and be so warmly received is really lovely, thank you so much.

She then shouted out the other women who were nominated for the award, such as Florence + the Machine, Jess Glynne and Laura Marling.

She said to them,

And to all the other girls, thank you for letting me in your company... You're all incredible, you're all amazing and it's a privilege to be alongside you.

After that, Adele took a moment to thank her record label and her management team "for embracing the fact that I'm a woman and being encouraged by it."

Right before she wrapped things up, she held up her award in the air and said,

And I'd also like to take this moment to publicly support Kesha.

Kesha has been in an ongoing legal battle with Sony producer Dr. Luke, whom she accused of sexual assault and battery.

Several celebrities, such as Demi Lovato and Taylor Swift, have been standing by her during this difficult time.
