‘The Bachelorette’ Has Its Very Own Shark Girl — Meet Penguin Guy

Typically, wearing a costume in a social setting is a concept reserved for the circus, Halloween, Times Square, and any holiday-inspired event drunk college kids deem as "no costume, no entrance."

Of course, The Bachelor and The Bachelorette are in a league of their own and normal societal rules don't really apply to the ABC hit reality dating shows.

Monday night is the premiere of Rachel Lindsay's season of The Bachelorette and there's typically a 50/50 shot of seeing a contestant show up in a costume with some type of kitschy one-liner.

Prior to meeting the men of the mansion, Rachel sat down with her fellow past Bachelor contestants for some much-needed words of wisdom.

Alexis, who made waves as Dolphin/Shark Girl on Nick Viall's season of The Bachelor, gave Rachel a piece of advice that came straight from the heart.

Alexis Waters told Rachel,

Don't judge anybody if they come in a costume because they might be the most amazing person ever.

This subtle piece of advice proved to be useful when Matt, the 32-year-old Construction Sales Rep, showed up to greet Rachel wearing a penguin suit.

His reasoning behind the costume? Penguins mate for life.

After a quick fact check, because it's literally impossible to tell what is and isn't fake news these days, I'm happy to confirm penguins do, in fact, mate for life.

Magellanic penguins are monogamous. Penguins have the same mates for their whole lives.

Thanks, Google!

Matt mentioned in his bio if he could have any superpower, he'd want to have, "Telepathy because it would make dating so much easier."

We'll find out by the end of the premiere if he read Rachel's mind or if the producers needed to spice things up a bit and didn't want to overkill the "Tickle Monster" by putting him in a Times Square Elmo suit.
