It turns out, Ben and Jen's current relationship doesn't suck as much as “Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice” looks.

It's been almost a month since Jennifer Garner's heartbreaking Vanity Fair cover story in which she confirmed her marriage to Ben Affleck was ended, and it was at least seemingly in part because Affleck had been unfaithful.

Though he was hesitant to even address the story at first, Ben's officially broken his silence.

In an interview with The New York Times, Ben claimed he was originally apprehensive about talking to reporters regarding Garner's interview because of the couple's children.

He explained,

Because it ends up being in the record somewhere, in the great miasma of junk on the Internet.

The good news is he seems to at least be on working terms with Jennifer, confirming,

Jen's great. She's a great person. We're on great terms. I just saw her this morning, so that's the reality that I live in.

He also appeared to know about the Vanity Fair piece before it was set to release, saying,

She felt like she wanted to discuss it and get it out there and get it over with, so she could say, 'Look, I already talked about it — I don't want to do it again.'”

There is clearly hurting on both sides. In her interview, Jennifer admitted,

My heart's a little on the tender side right now, and it's always easier to focus on the ways that you feel hurt, but I know that, with time and some perspective, I'll have a clearer sense of where I let the system down, because there's no way I get off in this.

Can't we all just get along?
