While rumors started surfacing weeks ago, more details have recently been released about the “Breaking Bad” spinoff, “Better Call Saul.”

Although originally meant to air in November 2014, it has been pushed back to release in 2015 and honestly, we’re not even disappointed.

With all of the heart-stopping details that have been revealed for this highly anticipated series, “Breaking Bad” enthusiasts are rejoicing everywhere.

The series is set to take place before, during and after the “Breaking Bad” timeline, which provides even more insight into our favorite characters.

The beginning of production was confirmed back in June, but with these new details from the cast and crew, “Breaking Bad” fans are more excited than ever.

What Is It?

“Better Call Saul” is a spinoff series of AMC’s “Breaking Bad” that explores the life of not-so-lawful defense lawyer, Saul Goodman (Bob Odenkirk). He is known for his sense of humor, fairly illegal practices and largely ironic “We the People” wallpaper posted in his office.

He may not be the best lawyer in town, but he is certainly the most entertaining. From changing his last name to Goodman because it sounded more Jewish to having fake legal credentials, he has become a fan-favorite for loyal “Breaking Bad” followers everywhere.


Where did we leave off with Saul when “Breaking Bad” ended?

When the series ended in late 2013, Saul Goodman was on the run for an entirely new life in Nebraska. Walter White (Bryan Cranston) and his criminal ways were exposed to the public and Saul, being the great lawyer he is, did not want to be involved whatsoever.

Jesse Pinkman (Aaron Paul), who saw Goodman’s cheesy advertisements and needed legal advice for his friend, Badger (Matt Jones), was the one who initially got him involved in the mess. Ultimately, he formed a close bond with Walt and Jesse and the rest is history.


Can we expect to see anyone from “Breaking Bad” in this new series?

In fact, yes. Details have recently surfaced from the “Better Call Saul” production team that reveals the show will be taking place before, during and after the “Breaking Bad” timeline.

You know what that means: More Jesse Pinkman, Walter White and possibly many other of your favorite characters. I guess Bryan Cranston wasn’t kidding when he said, “never say never” to Walt being gone for good.


Is this show going to be a one hit wonder?

No! Producers announced that season two was already picked up and expected to air in 2016. We can anticipate at least two years of breaking the rules, witty dark humor and surprises left and right from Saul Goodman.

While excitement is rising because of this newly announced timeline of the series, producers for “Better Call Saul” make it very clear they want the show to be its own entity.

At first, the show was thought to be entirely a prequel, with no mention of characters from AMC’s hit and only focusing on Saul Goodman in the 1980s.

Now that this new focus has been revealed, viewers everywhere are even more eager not just to see our old favorite faces, but also to see what Saul will be up to this time.

Saul Goodman most certainly puts the criminal in criminal lawyer, and fans could not be more excited for 2015. Who knows? Maybe he will now be the one who knocks.
