Beyoncé's 'Lemonade' Was Apparently Powerful Enough To Affect Juice Sales

When I first heard about Beyoncé's Lemonade premiering on HBO, I immediately thought of the beverage.

I'm sure I wasn't alone on this, especially since Bey did a pretty good job of keeping the project on the DL. Fans didn't know what to expect from the one-hour special.

After realizing Lemonade was a visual album, everything made much more sense.

Lemonade took the world by storm. People grew OBSESSED. Beyoncé used spoken word, visualization and beautiful imagery to deliver one of the most powerful albums of all time. I'M PROUD OF YOU, BEY.

But Lemonade actually had an interesting effect on the world. According to Natalie Sexton, a fresh-juice industry expert, the sales of lemonade (as in the citrus drink made with real lemons) have increased since the album's release.

The Huffington Post spoke with Sexton, who is the namesake and director of marketing at Natalie's Orchard Island Juice Company in Florida. Sexton shared her company's sales for natural and flavored lemonade have doubled.

She told Huffington Post,

People are drinking lemonade and posting pictures with #Beyoncé. You can't drink lemonade these days without thinking of her.

Ain't that the truth. Even when I pass by lemons in the grocery store I think of Bey. SHE'S EVERYWHERE.

Matt McLean from Uncle Matt's Organic shared his findings, as well.

He's noticed sales are increasing, but not to the level of Sexton's success. His company's lemonade sales have apparently gone up about 20 percent.

McLean joked,

I don't know if that's due to Beyoncé or the heat. Maybe it's Beyoncé. We'd send her some free lemonade — it's organic!

Perhaps people are buying lemonade more now that the weather is warming up, but I'd like to fully attribute the sales to Queen Bey.

Now BRB, gonna go squeeze some fresh lemons and make a tasty beverage to get me pumped for the summer. Thanks Bey!
