Lots of parents like to get involved with their children's school activities: They'll participate in bake sales or chaperone field trips. Some even sit on the parent-teacher association board to have a say in what happens at the school.

But Beyoncé is a special kind of parent... being an international superstar and all.

So when she had the opportunity to help raise money for her daughter Blue Ivy's school, she did it in a way only Beyoncé could: by hosting a stadium performance.

Participants at the fundraiser, held Saturday night at Los Angeles' Shrine Auditorium and Expo Hall, got the surprise of their lives when Queen B took the stage and performed a short set, singing hits such as “Crazy In Love,” “XO” and Whitney Houston's “I Will Always Love You.”

What is a school event without a performance by the biggest pop star in the world?

Watch videos of Bey's awesome show below and join me in lamenting the fact that a bunch of 3-year-olds got to see the Queen up-close, and we didn't. Yeah — life isn't fair.

“Crazy In Love”/ “I Will Always Love You”

“XO”

We love you too, B.
