7 Quotes From Billy Ray Cyrus That Prove He's Your Spirit Animal

Billy Ray Cyrus has always been oddly exalting to us.

Whether he was pretending to parent Hannah Montana while being her tour manager on the show, to completely letting her go her own way in real life, we've always had a soft spot for him.

The country music singer and actor has managed to gain a net worth of $20 million.

Don't ask us how. He produced "Hannah Montana: The Movie," married, nearly divorced and had four children. One of them (obviously Miley) is worth $160 million dollars. By the way, we still think you puke glitter Miley, and we love it.

We've picked seven of our favorite quotes from Mr. Cyrus himself. Each one encompasses how the man seems to revive each day, doesn't seem to age, scored a hot-ass wife (You go, Tish!) and still shockingly manages to be a “goal parent” to most of the teenagers in the world.

Jokes aside, I'm sure he taught Miley valuable lessons on hard work, determination and self-love.

1. "He'll get tired of chasing someone who doesn't chase back."

Miley has managed to score some great men in her life. We don't know if it's because she can buy an island for them if she wanted to, or because she's funny, extravagant and completely raw. But, she has. The men in her life have included Jonas Brothers' baby boy Nick Jonas, Lucas Till, Adam Sevani, Thomas Sturges, Justin Gaston and — saving the best for last — Liam Hemsworth.

Life doesn't stop for anyone, and you shouldn't either, especially not for a guy. Nevertheless, if you like someone and begin playing the chase games. If you don't text him back or wait for him to text you first, you better believe he will stop chasing you soon enough.

2. "I don't think there are any accidents in my life."

Me neither. One day you're dreading every single job that has to be done, or you're hating everyone that crosses your path, or over thinking every situation, and then the next day you see everything as butterflies and rainbows.

Synchronicity, or meaningful coincidences, are accidents that are meant to happen in your life. So everything that you think is an unfortunate mishap in your life, is actually just a lesson that you needed to be taught.

3. "Don't tell my heart, my achy breaky heart, I just don't think it'd understand."

Love is not what the mind thinks it wants; it's what the heart knows it feels. The greater part of human pain is unnecessary. It is self-created as long as we let the unobserved mind runs our life. The mind — and the achy breaky heart — habitually denies and resists the present moment because it thinks it can't do its job and remain in control, without putting the concept of time in the equation.

Hence why we are always thinking — and overthinking — about what happened in the past and what will happen in the future. We just need to concentrate on the now. Don't see the present as threatening; separate your mind from your heart. Leave the concept of time behind.

4. "I am and always will be a sinner. But that's the beautiful thing about Jesus. I'll always try to be a better person in the eyes of God. But I'm not all of a sudden stepping up on a pedestal and saying I'm holier than thou, 'cause I'm not!"

The Cyrus family has been known to be religious. Miley seems to have drifted from the arms of God lately, and created wings for herself as she jumps onto the hippie spirituality bandwagon. We completely approve.

Nevertheless, Billy has always been a die-hard Jesus fan, so we don't know how he feels about Miley loving Buddha as well. Actually, he probably just accepts whatever makes her happy and a better person.

5. "But those dreams move on, if you wait too long."

One day, you're on a mission to conquer a hundred goals, and the next just you can't get yourself up from bed. But that is fine. We all have our ups and downs. Life is a rollercoaster.

Just know while you are at home, another person is out there trying to make his or her dreams come true. Whatever you choose to do with your time and how you fight for your goals, just know that no one is going to create your future but you.

6. "Ever since I was a kid, I've always been a real deep thinker and stuff."

Me too, Billy, me too.

I don't know if it's because I'm a Scorpio and I observe the mind on a constant basis, but I do know that I have stopped judging everything that doesn't go the way I want it to go. It was just causing me stress and unhappiness. By observing the mechanics of the mind, I stepped out of its fighting patterns, and allowed the present moment to just be.

7. "I'm pretty laid-back as a dad anyway. I just trust her so much. She has a great head on her shoulders and she makes pretty good decisions most of the time. She even has enough common sense that if she makes a bad one, she makes adjustments and knows that's what life is. It's a day-by-day, step-by-step journey through life, as she says in the movie."

Tish and Billy Ray have always seemed chill. Miley may have been a train wreck for a while, but in all honesty, don't you think she is now truly happy? I do. She has a job she loves, the constant support of fans who would die for her and she teaches them to just love themselves as they are.

Billy, Miley and just the entire Cyrus family may be batsh*t crazy, but everything they do seems to come from the heart, and that is what life is all about.

Everything you own can be taken from you at any given moment, that's why you have to live life with no constraints. Don't give a flying f*ck about what anyone thinks. But don't be a lunatic either. Have control of your mind and body, but just f*cking let go and see how the universe will start to work for you.
