Caitlyn Jenner Just Revealed She Once Considered Committing Suicide

by Eitan Levine

Ever since Caitlyn Jenner's cover photo on Vanity Fair took over the Internet, Glamour's Woman of the Year has been on a quest to promote transgender equality through empowerment and transparency.

Though she's been open in the past about the struggles she faced during her transition, Jenner admitted in an interview with Glamour for its "Women of the Year" series to possibly the biggest hurdle she crossed on her journey to become Caitlyn: her battle with suicidal thoughts.

In the interview, Jenner went over how she considered committing suicide after paparazzi swarmed the doctor's office where she had her Adam's apple reduced.

That night, while in her house with a gun, she said she weighed the options of ending her life right there, telling herself,

Go in there, no more pain.

She didn't go through with the act, though, and the next morning, she said she had a different perspective on her life. She said to herself,

You are still alive. You have to make your life interesting.

Later in the interview, Jenner said,

I started thinking, 'Maybe this is why God put me on [Earth].' This issue has been swept under the rug for so long. I need to tell this story on the highest level you can possibly do it. Not just for me but for this entire community.

I think I speak for everyone when I say, keep being your brave self, Cait!
