Amanda has denied prancing around a tanning salon naked. It had been alleged by InTouch magazine that the former child star walked into the main reception of the Beach Bum Tanning salon in New York City completely naked.
But the 26-year-old claims the reports are untrue, and she intends to sue the tabloid for printing the allegations.
Amanda told Us Weekly: ‘I’m suing In Touch for printing a fake story. I’m not “troubled.” I don’t get naked in public.’
The confident star added: ‘I’m 26, a multi-millionaire, retired. Please respect my privacy.’
It had been claimed that shocking fellow customers in the process, the Easy A actress was in her Mystic spray-tanning booth before she emerged in front of patrons nude while looking for a pair of goggles.
‘She walked out of the room completely naked,’ an insider told the magazine. ‘She didn’t seem to care that everyone saw her naked.’
The source added that the actress appeared completely out of it, and displayed a worrying demeanour.
‘She seemed totally out of it,’ they said. ‘She took her time walking back to the Mystic room, dragging her fingers along the wall and smiling at customers who passed her.
‘There was definitely something wrong with her.’
The CEO of the salon, James Oliver, is standing by Amanda’s account and said in a statement: ‘Employee testimony and security footage have confirmed that Ms. Bynes was not acting inappropriately. She is a long-time client and we stand by her account.’
Amanda’s denial of the incident comes after reports that she has been displaying increasingly erratic behavior over the past few weeks.
