Ariel Winter Says Her Revealing Instagram Posts Are All About Body Positivity

We have to hand it to “Modern Family” star Ariel Winter. She’s not only killing it in life, but she’s also becoming a huge inspiration for women to accept their bodies and have fun.

Winter told Entertainment Tonight on Tuesday about how she learned to love her body and why she posts revealing pics on Instagram.

She said she’s truly surprised by commenters’ negative reactions to when she shows a little skin, but she made an awesome point, saying,

It’s not that crazy! […] Everybody is so hyped up on the fact that I post photos where my butt’s out. It’s a butt. Everyone has a butt!

True that, girl. She followed up this fact with solid advice. She said,

I’m enjoying my life, you’re enjoying your life, you should be posting your butt if you like it, too […] I’m sorry you think I should put my butt away, but just unfollow me.

Her words are so powerful to me, I want to go take a picture of my butt right now and post it all over my Instagram.

I truly admire her confidence, and I’m definitely not alone.

Girl, you’re right. Posting pictures of your butt isn’t crazy.

Truly loving her body took some time to figure out, though.

But Winters said working with Sofía Vergara inspired her to embrace her shape. Ariel explained,

I really had the greatest opportunity to have some wonderful role models, especially Sofía Vergara. Working with a curvy beautiful woman that everybody looked up to and loved the way she looked… that was my inspiration to move forward and accept myself because that’s what matters.

These days, women have so many role models to inspire self-confidence both inside and out.

The more we see diverse bodies in media, the easier it will be to stop being so hard on ourselves and live our lives, just like Winters said.
