Beyoncé Set To Star In, Direct, And Produce Her Own HBO Documentary

When it comes to accuracy and authenticity, who would be better to direct a documentary about Beyoncé than, well, Beyoncé herself?

That seems to be HBO’s mentality, as Vulture is now reporting that the singer herself is set to direct and star in her own documentary for the cable network. Set for a February 16, 2013 premiere date, the documentary will combine footage of her on-stage performances with clips shot by Beyoncé herself, and focus on her “family life, including her return to the spotlight after the birth of her daughter.”

According to HBO, the documentary “sheds light on her childhood in Houston, with home movies revealing the close bond she built with her family and charts the challenges Beyoncé felt when she decided to manage her career and build her own company, Parkwood Entertainment.”

Lastly, Beyoncé will also be executive producing the film! No surprise there, clearly there’s nothing this woman cannot do!

‘Forrest Gump’ As Directed By Wes Anderson Is Perfect (Video)

Wes Anderson, he’s so hot right now. It seems the new wave of parodies for the time being is everything Wes Anderson (don’t worry, “Frozen” parodies aren’t going anywhere). We saw the “Zoolander” scene a few days ago inspired by Anderson, and a few weeks before that we saw a beautiful compilation of his symmetry. Now, […]

Singularity At The Cinema: ‘Transcendence,’ ‘Her’ And Fighting Against The Future

“Transcendence” isn’t a very good movie. It has the setup to be a thought-provoking, sci-fi, action flick, without any real action or thought of which to speak. It’s essentially the last 20 minutes of “Her,” spread glacially over a two-hour-and-twenty-minute run time. The biggest problem with “Transcendence,” however, is that it foregrounds and obsesses over its technology at the […]

Kobe Says Shaq Drove Him Crazy With His Laziness

Kobe Bryant’s maniacal competitive streak and legendary obsession with working out has been an inspiration to the younger generation of basketball stars following in his footsteps. Shaquille O’Neal’s work ethic was more… relaxed. Obviously Shaq had the greater physical gifts to work with, and came into an NBA where zone defenses were illegal, giving him […]

Casey Foundation, entitled “Race for Results: Building a Path to Opportunity for All Children,” uncovered some ugly statistics lurking in the country’s heartland. Using a measuring system […]

The 5 Things Every Girl’s Doorman Is Judging Her For

As females living in a major city, we find comfort in living in a doorman building. We think these men will protect us from whatever is lingering on the outside streets. Well, at least that’s what our parents take comfort in. We, on the other hand, more so appreciate the fact that while we’re at […]
