Not Trying To 'Keep Up': Why Jenner Didn't Spell Caitlyn With A 'K'

When Caitlyn Jenner chose her name, she could have spelled it with a "K" in order to fit in with the Kardashian brand.

All of the Kardashian women have names beginning with the letter "K."

However, Caitlyn made a conscious choice not to spell her name that way. That's because she didn't want to be lumped in with the other Kardashians.

It's not that she has anything against them.

They're her family, after all.

But she wanted Caitlyn to have a unique identity that wasn't part of some larger scheme. She wanted to be her own person for once in her life.

I, for one, am proud of Caitlyn for having the courage to make that distinction.
