She first visited Brazil when she was 17-years-old and Candice Swanepoel has revealed why she prefers the South American country to South Africa – because it has a ‘raw sexual energy’ that allows the model to be herself.
The Victoria’s Secret star explains that was ‘sexual from a very young age’ and Brazil didn’t stifle that side of her, like South Africa did.
Speaking to Derek Blasberg in an interview for 10 magazine the blonde beauty revealed: ‘I was very sexual at a young age and in a conservative place like South Africa it was difficult to be in tune with that side of myself.
She added: ‘But Brazil brings out the real me. There’s a raw sexual energy there that’s intoxicating.’
The beauty described her perfect Brazilian day would include sex and a nap afterwards.
The 24-year-old explained that she prefers Brazil to New York as well as to South Africa and she loves it there.
She said: ‘In New York, we base people on what they do, how much money they have. No one knows anything about the fashion industry in Brazil. They don’t care what you do. They just want the beach and the sun and the fun. I feel the freest and the happiest there.
She added: ‘There, I can just be the normal Candice.’
Candice also revealed how she grew up on a dairy farm back in South Africa, where she was born and it was her parents who told her to pursue modelling because there wasn’t many career opportunities in her own country.
The model also revealed how she was about to quite modelling and go home when Victoria’s Secret asked to see her.
Candice has been busy in recent weeks showing off her shape while modelling the lingerie company’s latest swimwear line in St Barts.
