Casey Affleck To Make Film About The Infamous Boston Strangler
According to Deadline, Casey Affleck is in the early stages of developing a film based on the story of the infamous Boston Strangler, a murderer who gruesomely terrorized Boston during the 1960s. Warner Bros. is said to have acquired the pitch for the flick, which has been compared to se7en and Zodiac in terms of tone.
Chuck Maclean will be writing the script, and Affleck may potentially take on a role in the film as well, starring as one of the detectives working on the case.
The story of the strangler is one of the more peculiar and confusing unsolved crimes in U.S. history. Though a man by the name of Albert DeSalvo had been arrested and convicted for the murders of 13 female Bostonians, there are many who believe DeSalvo was just used as a “pawn” in a ring of murderers.
