Chris Brown may not be used to people correcting him in public, but that didn’t stop the singer’s attorney from giving him a stern warning in open court.
Brown returned to a Los Angeles courtroom on Thursday for a progress hearing stemming from the 2009 Rihanna beating case.
After a question from the judge, Chris raised his hand and tried to talk in court. But his superstar lawyer Mark Geragos quickly shut him down.
‘I don’t dance, you don’t talk,’ Geragos chastised Brown, who laughed at the legal eagle’s witty response.
The 23-year-old was attempting to answer a question from the judge about his upcoming tour schedule. Geragos was asking the court for permission for the star to go a world tour.
Judge Patricia Schnegg granted Brown permission to travel abroad, but said he must return to court to update her on the progress of his probation after he completes his overseas tour.
However, the court did not address questions raised at a previous hearing about whether the R&B singer had completed the terms of his community service sentence.
Brown remains on supervised probation for felony assault for an attack on Rihanna in 2009. He is scheduled to return to court on Jan. 17.
