Who says republicans can’t be funny? Chris Christie recently became one of the coolest politicians in the world when he appeared on the David Letterman show and made light of the unnecessary amount of insults he has received about his weight.

Most associate Christie with his intimidating, sick-of-it-all demeanor that he had to maintain while he battled to take care of his state of New Jersey after the destruction of Hurricane Sandy.

The governor completely shattered this reputation when he began the discussion over jokes about his weight by pulling out a jelly doughnut and chowing down on live television.

Christie would even go on to say that he actually did find some of these jokes funny and proceeded to read off a few of his favorites. Watch some highlights from the hilarious interview here:
