Parks & Recreation star Amy Poehler got a little more attention from television host David Letterman than she bargained for while appearing on his late night talk show on Tuesday.

Indeed, the audience also reacted with shock – and then applause – when the 65-year-old Letterman made a play for the actress by grabbing her arm and planting a kiss on her mouth.

The newly single star showed up on the program wearing a sexy black sleevless minidress.

The 41-year-old blond was on the show to promote her NBC comedy, particularly an episode in which her character, Leslie Knope, finally gets to meet the man of her dreams, re-elected Vice President Joe Biden, who makes a cameo.

In his usual fashion Letterman suggested, ‘Let’s take a look at the clip,’ but his jerky movement to scoot near her got Amy a little flustered.

‘Oh, I thought you were going to go in for a kiss,’ Amy ventured to say.

That invitation was like opening the floodgates, more than enough to prompt Letterman into action.

Letterman grabbed Amy’s bare arm, leaned over and gave her a kiss. Even though it lasted only a few moments minutes, Amy seemed embarrassed.

‘Thank you,’ she said with a laugh,’ to which he replied, ‘Thank you is right.’

Some viewers didn’t appreciate Letterman taking such liberties, and one even tweeted that he was old enough to be her father.

The former SNL announced the end of her nine-year marriage to funny man Will Arnett in September, although they will continue to co-parent their two children, Archie, three, and Abel, two.

Coming Home To Your Dog Is Reason Enough To Never Drink And Drive (Video)

Commercials for beer — screw it, commercials in general — are rarely clever or touching enough to deliver a message that actually sticks with the viewer. This commercial for Budweiser, however, is changing the game in the best way possible. Instead of promoting beer, the commercial aims to promote responsible drinking. It features a man […]

This 2-Year-Old Choreographer Has More Swag Than You Ever Will (Video)

If there’s one thing children have over adults, it’s that they genuinely don’t give a sh*t if they look silly or ridiculous. Adults often spend way too much time worrying about what other people think. That carefree nature is what makes them so damn charming. Take this tot, for instance. A 2-year-old dancer named Zaya […]

Thank you, Bob Dylan, for another amazing contribution to society. Today is the 50th anniversary of the day that changed music history. No, it wasn’t the meeting of John Lennon and Paul McCartney, or the day Lennon met Yoko. More important than those days was the day Bob Dylan met the Beatles and introduced them […]

Electronic Cash Kings: How DJs Are Taking Over The Nightlife Scene And Raking In Money

Some would say DJs are the new rockstars. Others would say DJs are the new money printers. I’d say they’re somewhere in the middle: They’re the new entertainers. Forbes couldn’t avoid the big bucks that are being pulled in by EDM stars, coining “Electronic Cash Kings” as one of its younger established lists. This year’s ranking […]

A Baby Elephant Escaped Poachers In Africa By Squeezing Onto Small Plane

In 2013, poachers killed over 35,000 elephants in Africa alone, seeking to make a profit off of their ivory tusks. Though poaching is illegal, the mass murder of elephants and other endangered animals is a rampant problem, especially in Central Africa, where many of these animals live. Last year, missionaries intervened after poachers in Chad and Cameroon […]
