David Letterman Kisses Newly-Single Amy Poehler On His Late Night Program

Parks & Recreation star Amy Poehler got a little more attention from television host David Letterman than she bargained for while appearing on his late night talk show on Tuesday.

Indeed, the audience also reacted with shock – and then applause – when the 65-year-old Letterman made a play for the actress by grabbing her arm and planting a kiss on her mouth.

The newly single star showed up on the program wearing a sexy black sleevless minidress.

The 41-year-old blond was on the show to promote her NBC comedy, particularly an episode in which her character, Leslie Knope, finally gets to meet the man of her dreams, re-elected Vice President Joe Biden, who makes a cameo.

In his usual fashion Letterman suggested, ‘Let’s take a look at the clip,’ but his jerky movement to scoot near her got Amy a little flustered.

‘Oh, I thought you were going to go in for a kiss,’ Amy ventured to say.

That invitation was like opening the floodgates, more than enough to prompt Letterman into action.

Letterman grabbed Amy’s bare arm, leaned over and gave her a kiss. Even though it lasted only a few moments minutes, Amy seemed embarrassed.

‘Thank you,’ she said with a laugh,’ to which he replied, ‘Thank you is right.’

Some viewers didn’t appreciate Letterman taking such liberties, and one even tweeted that he was old enough to be her father.

The former SNL announced the end of her nine-year marriage to funny man Will Arnett in September, although they will continue to co-parent their two children, Archie, three, and Abel, two.
