Demi Lovato fans, it is time to celebrate! The new album, Tell Me You Love Me, is finally freakin' here! Move over Swifties because Lovatics have arrived, and they aren't going anywhere anytime soon. Lovato released her new album on Sept. 29, 2017, and fans are completely flipping out. After her release of songs like "Sorry Not Sorry" and "You Don't Do It For Me Anymore," it's safe to say fans were expecting gold. They were right. So, where did Lovato get this jolt of inspiration? And specifically, are any of Demi Lovato's songs about Lauren Abedini, her rumored girlfriend?

Rumors spread after Lovato and openly out Abedini were spotted at Disneyland holding hands on Sept. 9, 2017. Get it, Lovato. My fingers are tightly crossed that this is her IRL girlfriend, so we can all bask in the glory of diversity and gay pride. It's just gotta be true. Please be true. After much research and deliberation, it's safe to say her new song "Only Forever" could be about Abedini and I am here for it! Here are the lyrics for you to see:

I've been thinking 'bout the future And I've been thinking 'bout the now I know we're gonna be together I just don't know how

You know when we get close Can't deny the tension between us both And I don't wanna pressure you, but I think you need to make a move

I've been waiting (I've been waiting) And I'll keep waiting (I've been waiting) Only forever Only forever, only forever Only forever, only forever

Yeah, I can tell that you're terrified to take a shot this strong Should I wait up for you day and night Just let me know how long

You know when we get close Can't deny the tension between us both And I don't wanna pressure you, but I think you need to make a move

I've been waiting (I've been waiting) And I'll keep waiting (I've been waiting) Only forever Only forever, only forever Only forever, only forever

What if I told you it's too late? What if I say that I can't wait? What if I meet somebody else who doesn't leave me on a shell? I'll give you one more chance, but it only lasts

Only forever Only forever Only forever, only forever Only forever, only forever

I think it's pretty clear that this song could be about Abedini. Just look at this interview from Noisey.

Lovato explained her songwriting process for several songs on her new album:

I was frustrated with a certain situation ... And I was like, 'You know what, I'm just going to write about it.' And so I did, and sent [the songs] to that person, and that was ... Interesting. Any time you send a song about the person, to the person—it's ballsy. It's like, 'Hey! Here's my feelings for you!' … They knew [about my feelings], but neither of us had acknowledged [them] before. And then it turned out that person had written a song about me, and we exchanged songs.

Oh, sh*t. Could "that person" be Abedini? She is a musician, and Lovato was very intentional on not using gender pronouns. It's possible!

Although holding hands at Disneyland is a pretty big deal, Lovato does not want to be labeled by her sexuality or who she is dating. The "Sorry Not Sorry" singer took to Twitter to air out her frustrations. She said,

Just because I'm refuse to label myself for the sake of a headline doesn't mean I'm not going to stand up for what I believe in. If you're that curious about my sexuality, watch my documentary. But I don't owe anybody anything.

Oh, snap! She is not having even a little bit of it! No sir. Even though her life is very public due to unmeasurable fame, she has every right to keep her romantic life private. You do you, Demi. In a recent interview with PrideSource.com's Chris Azzopardi, Lovato was asked about her sexuality. She remarked,

I just feel like everyone's always looking for a headline and they always want their magazine or TV show or whatever to be the one to break what my sexuality is. I feel like it's irrelevant to what my music is all about. I stand up for the things that I believe in and the things that I'm passionate about, but I like to keep my personal life as private as possible when it comes to dating and sexuality and all that stuff just because it has nothing to do with my music. Unfortunately, we live in a world where everyone is trying to get that soundbite and I am purposefully not giving the soundbite. Watch my documentary.

She is not revealing a single, solid detail. So, let's all get together and watch that damn documentary the minute it comes out. Lovato isn't one to reveal much, but remember the song "Cool For The Summer"? Those lyrics definitely stirred up several rumors about her sexuality.

Tell me what you want What you like It's okay I'm a little curious too Tell me if it's wrong If it's right I don't care I can keep a secret could, you? Got my mind on your body And your body on my mind Got a taste for the cherry I just need to take a bite Don't tell your mother Kiss one another Die for each other We're cool for the summer

I mean, what could "got a taste for the cherry" really imply? So, did she write a song about her Disneyland date? Maybe. What we do know is Lovato's new album is amazing, and she's ridiculously talented. Let's let her talk about her sexuality on her own... or not. We'll love her either way.
