Demi Lovato has been rocking the music scene lately. She completely killed it at the 2017 VMAs and her latest single, "Sorry Not Sorry," is freakin' amazing. I mean, how could you not dance to that song? Now, this Pop Princess is breaking all of our hearts with the new song, "You Don't Do It For Me Anymore." Demi, you will always do it for me. So, who is "You Don't Do It For Me Anymore" about?

Considering Lovato recently split with handsome hunk and MMA fighter, Guilherme “Bomba” Vasconcelos, the song is probably about him, but let's dig deep into these lyrics. Grab a tissue, stand up, and brace yourself. This is the next breakup anthem. I can feel it in my bones! Move over, Adele. Demi is here and she is breaking hearts left and right.

I see the future without you The hell was I doing in the past? Now that I've learnt all about you A love just like ours wouldn't last I won't fall for your games So don't hate me when I say That you don't do it for me anymore No, you don't do it for me anymore

Holy sh*t. These lyrics are serious business. If someone wrote me a song like this, I would probably never leave my apartment ever again. Not only is the song amazing, but the lyrics are also blowing me away! Lovato just keeps getting better and better. Every time the chorus hits, my arms go up directly toward the sky. I believe they call that the "gospel hand." Take me to church, Demi! Take me to church!

The lyrics below include the line "money won't pay for your problems." So, that could mean our mystery man is wealthy. She then goes on to mention "vices." Could that mean they broke up over someone's vices? Possibly!

Money won't pay for your problems You gotta fix them yourself Vices and pity won't solve 'em Stop feeling bad for yourself I won't fall for your games So don't hate me when I say That you don't do it for me anymore No, you don't do it for me anymore

Although she recently split with Guilherme “Bomba” Vasconcelos, Lovato has been having a successful and incredible year. She also celebrated a huge milestone this year. She is five years sober and happier than ever.

Lovato spoke about her sobriety in an interview with Ellen DeGeneres in April of 2017, saying,

It means so much to me because I feel like the day that I got sober was the day that I actually started living and so I like to call myself 5 years old. I've decided to be open about my story and share everything that I've been through because it helps others.

So, could this mean the song is dedicated to her old self? Could the song be all about her own past "vices"? This may mean the song isn't about any ex-boyfriend at all. Whoa. Our minds are blown. If Lovato is truly singing to her old self, that would make her one of pop's most brilliant lyricists. Honestly, she's one of the greatest lyricists already, but you get it. She takes us home with these final lyrics:

I'm sorry for honesty I could not bear to lie to you, to lie with you I'm sorry for honesty I'm well aware I lied to you when I lied with you You don't do it for me anymore No, you don't do it for me, don't do it for me You don't do it for me anymore No, you don't do it for me anymore

So, is this song really about the old Lovato? Is the song about an ex-boyfriend? Regardless of who or what the song is written about, "You Don't Do It For Me Anymore" is probably going to be the song of the fall. Is that a thing? Let's all blast this jam, throw our hands to the sky, and bask in the Lovato glory!
