When Michael Clarke Duncan passed away earlier this year he still had several projects lined up , one of them being Sin City: A Dame to Kill For. In the new flick Duncan would have reprised his role as Manute from the original. The Hollywood Reporter is currently reporting that 24 alum and Allstate Insurance spokesman, Dennis Haysbert, will replace Duncan in the role.

“Manute is a character that has been part of the heart of the Sin City tales, and the late Michael Clarke Duncan beautifully established that role onscreen,” director Robert Rodriguez and Sin City creator, Frank Miller, said in a statement on the site. “We could not tell the story of Sin City: A Dame to Kill For without Manute and are thrilled to welcome Dennis Haysbert to the cast.”

Haysbert, who is usually known for playing very calm and reserved characters, will be making quite the transition as he takes on the vicious role of Manute.

Sin City: A Dame to Kill For will hit theaters on October 4, 2013!
