‘Django Unchained’ And ‘Les Misérables’ Open Big in the Box Office

According to Deadline, it was a very good Christmas for the box office with the release of two of the season’s biggest films – Django Unchained and Les Misérables – bringing in major audiences to the theaters.


Early evening box office sales put Les Mis at the top spot, earning approximately $17.5 million- though that number could go up to as high as $20 million by the end of today.

Django Unchained took the #2 spot with about $13 million in estimated earnings, huge numbers for an ‘R’ rated film released over the holidays.
