Eddie Murphy was once the king of stand-up and big screen comedy, but over the last few years Eddie Murphy’s stock and relevance in pop culture has seen a great decline. After a series of box office bombs like The Adventures of Pluto Nash, A Thousand Words, and Norbit, it seems as though Eddie Murphy has lost his fire.

Forbes seems to feel the same way, placing Murphy at the top of its list of the most overpaid actors in Hollywood.

If you happen to disagree with Eddie Murphy’s place on the list, we encourage you to check out the statistic that writer Dorothy Pomerantz gave in regards to Murphy’s marketability:

“We estimate that for every $1 Murphy was paid for his last three films, they returned an average of $2.30 at the box office.” Ouch. Once you factor in production costs and the salaries of the other stars there isn’t much room for profit.

Now that the Shrek series is over and done with, Eddie Murphy now has nothing set in stone to fall back on. However he should not feel alone because rounding out this list is Katherine Heigl, Drew Barrymore, Reese Witherspoon, Sandra Bullock, Jack Black, Nicolas Cage, Adam Sandler, Denzel Washington, Ben Stiller, and Sarah Jessica Parker.

7 Reasons Why You Should Never Pretend To Be Someone You’re Not

We can be anything we want to be, but we can’t be anyone we want to be. You can be a scientist, a chef, a dancer, an entrepreneur, a writer, an artist, an astronaut, a president, but you have no choice but to be yourself. Rather, you have no other wise choice than to be yourself. […]

College Bro Tries To Backflip Off A Roof And Loses To Gravity (Video)

Philosophers have pondered the meaning of life for thousands of years and, even though I don’t claim to be smarter than the greatest minds of our time, I do think the explanation is a lot simpler than most people make it out to be. As far as I’m concerned, if you can successfully pull off […]

Why I Hate Stephen Collins For Ruining My Memory Of ’7th Heaven’

“7th Heaven” was the first show I fell in love with. I’ve fallen for dozens of shows since, but when I was a child, “7th Heaven” was a big part of my life. Coming from a small family, I somewhat envied the Camden clan and their tame, cookie-cutter shenanigans. Though they were actors, I legitimately […]
