10 Famous Ex-Couples We Hope Will Reunite At The VMAs

The 2016 MTV Video Music Awards are coming, and they are bound to bring all sorts of consumable, televised drama with them.

Nearly every year this wonderful award show never fails to deliver something ridiculous and/or spectacular.

Last year, Kanye West announced he was running for president. Two years before that, Miley Cyrus inexpertly twerked on Robin Thicke.

And of course, in 2008, Kanye interrupted Taylor Swift's acceptance speech, possibly making her famous.

Thanks to Kim Kardashian, that feud has been rekindled, which has everyone looking forward to whatever Kanye has cooking up this year.

But it's not just Kanye and Taylor who have potential for ratings bait this year. Do you guys even realize how many ex couples are going to be together in Madison Square Garden this Sunday night?!

Allow me to enlighten you.

(Or, they will probably be in the same room, anyhow. Not all of these people are #confirmed attending the show, but we really hope they do.)

1. Calvin Harris and Taylor Swift

We can assume Calvin Harris will definitely be there, since his song "This Is What You Came For" is nominated for both Best Male Video and Best Collaboration Video.

Taylor Swift, on the other hand, was not nominated for anything this year, despite both "Wildest Dreams" and "Out of the Woods" being eligible. But being one of the biggest pop stars of the day, she'll probably be there anyway.

This will be the first time the ex-couple will be in the same place since Calvin's epic Twitter takedown of Tay.

2. Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez

J Biebs unexpectedly snagged a Video of the Year nomination for his "Sorry" video.

Selena, on the other hand, is nominated for Song of Summer for "Kill Em With Kindness," so she'll likely be there, too.

After all that Instagram drama that started with the Biebs last week, I can't wait to see how they handle seeing each other.

3. Drake and Rihanna

These two were exes for a long time, and now they are unofficially back together.

Since they will both definitely be there (Drake for "Hotline Bling" and Rihanna to receive the Video Vanguard Award), maybe we'll finally get some confirmation on their relationship?

4. Justin Timberlake and Britney Spears

Haven't you heard? Britney Spears is back, bitch, and this year, she's performing at the VMAs for the first time in nearly a decade.

If you're older than 16, you might recall Britney dated Justin Timberlake back in the day. JT is up for Song of Summer for "Can't Stop the Feeling!" so there's a good chance there might be a reunion in sight.

5. Ariana Grande and Big Sean

Since Ariana Grande's music video for "Into You" got nominations for Best Female Video and Best Pop Video, she's sure to make an appearance.

Her ex Big Sean isn't on the roster, but it's still possible he might show up on Sunday. Luckily, it looks like Ariana has fully moved on, since she was making out with Mac Miller last weekend.

6. Taylor Swift and Harry Styles

Assuming Taylor is going, she might have another ex to worry about other than just Calvin.

One Direction isn't nominated this year, but it's still very likely Harry Styles might show up. And last time they were at the VMAs together, she threw him some pretty serious shade. Ah, memories.

7. Taylor Swift and John Mayer

Don't forget the other musician Taylor dated: John Mayer! No guarantee he'll show up either, but it's certainly possible.

OK, Tay, no judgement, but that's three exes you're probably going to see in one night. Damn.

8. Katy Perry and John Mayer

Speaking of John Mayer, he and Katy Perry also have the potential for an ex run-in. Again, neither are nominated, but you never know!

9. Nick Jonas and Miley Cyrus

Remember way, way back when Nick Jonas and Miley Cyrus used to date? Nick is up for the Song of Summer, and while Miley doesn't have any noms, she's just usually there. This is the couple I'm most hoping reunites. It would be so cute!

10. Demi Lovato and Joe Jonas

Demi's not nominated this year, but she'll probably be there to support her BFF Nick, which means there's a good chance she'll run into his brother and her ex, Joe Jonas. Luckily, the two have been on very friendly terms recently... perhaps too friendly.

Tune into all this drama this Sunday, August 28, at 9 pm on MTV.
