Hailey Baldwin Reveals How She Got Insane Abs Just In Time For Fashion Week
Even though Hailey models for a living, New York Fashion Week is a huge event she has to prepare for.
This year, the 19-year-old prepped with lots of sleep and a 10-day metabolic detox.
She told PEOPLE,
Right now, I’m on a metabolic detox. I’m trying to reset my body before I get into the craziness of all this traveling and running around.
Looks like that detox is totally working.
A metabolic detox sounds pretty intense to us, but Hailey knows her body will thank her later for this reset.
It’s like a cleanse that you have to do with like protein powder and all this different stuff and you have to eat a certain type of way. I eat healthy regardless but it’s very much more scaled down.
Hailey already sticks to a clean diet consisting of fruits and vegetables, which keeps her looking slim. Introducing a metabolic detox just helps take it one step further to really see the results of her hard work (awesome abs).
A metabolic detox is supposed to give your digestive system a hard earned break from processing all types of food. So when Hailey says “scaled down,” she probably means that on top of the protein powder and detox product, she’s sticking to simple whole foods that aren’t cooked with a ton of sauce and flavor.
You know she’s not dumping on the ranch dressing with a salad during a detox.
A detox is meant to help you hit the “refresh” button on your digestive system, however, there’s no hard evidence that it actually works.
Many experts claim that the detox product is totally irrelevant, and cutting out processed foods gets you the results you want.
Either way, it’s totally working for Hailey. Damn girl!
There are other ways to boost your metabolism without purchasing a detox product. For example, 30 minutes of exercise per day can do the trick.
Contrary to popular belief, lowering your calorie intake can actually slow down your metabolism. So if you want to “detox” your system and see results like Hailey’s, you’re better off switching out the processed foods for whole foods packed with nutrients and fiber, while also taking your exercise regimen up a notch.
Of course, that takes a bit longer than 10 days.
Regardless, we can’t wait to see Hailey strut her stuff all week in the big apple for NYFW.
