Heidi Klum has opened up about her broken relationship with estranged husband Seal, admitting the pair aren’t ‘the greatest of friends’ in the wake of their split.

The German supermodel, in a pre-taped interview for Katie Couric’s new daytime talk show, says she was stunned when the singer alluded to her having an affair with her bodyguard.

Denying claims she cheated, the 39-year-old said the pair are talking, but for now she’s taking it ‘one day at a time’.

Seal sparked controversy after suggesting late last month Heidi was sleeping with bodyguard Martin Kristen after they were photographed together in Italy.

The singer said: ‘I would have preferred Heidi to have shown a little bit more class and at least waited until we separated first before deciding to fornicate with the help.’

A spokesman for Heidi denied the claims, and Seal later retracted his statement, insisting he had not meant to suggest she had cheated on him during their marriage.

The model opened up about the recent war of words in a pre-taped interview for Katie Couric’s new daytime talk show.

Sitting down with the former news anchor, Heidi said: ‘I don’t know if we’re the greatest friends right now, especially because of the things that he said.

‘I just saw him on, on Sunday. We were talking and we’re in an okay place.’

Heidi said trouble has come from the couple always being watched by the public and press, causing added pressure.

‘It’s a work in progress. You have to take it one day at a time,’ she explained.

‘It’s hard especially when you are in the public eye too.

‘People are always looking at you closely and at everything you do. And they also don’t always see exactly how it really is.’

‘I haven’t felt like correcting every rumour that is out there. I’m focusing on moving forward.’

In previously released quotes from her sit-down with Couric, Heidi insisted she had been faithful.

Referring to Seal’s initial remarks, the New York Post reports she stated: ‘It was a unique choice of words. I’m used to it.

‘Other people aren’t. When we were together, I never looked at a another man.’

In a recent statement, Heidi claimed she has meanwhile ‘moved on’ from her relationship to the British singer.

She told People: ‘Our separation was based on issues between the two of us. Seal has moved on and so have I.

‘I cherish all of the great memories Seal and I created together over the years.’

She concluded: ‘My priority has and continues to be protecting and providing for our children.’

Heidi, who filed for divorce in April following seven years of marriage, shares four children with Seal: Leni, eight, Henry, six, Johan, five, and two-year-old Lou.

Heidi’s full interview on Katie will be shown on Wednesday – two days after Couric’s chat show made its anticipated debut.
