Summer time means movie season, as some people need an excuse to get out of the scorching sun and spend a few hours laughing, crying or holding onto their seats in an air-conditioned theater.

This summer, there are various movies are sure to become classics in pop-culture. The dog-days have brought several contenders, including Savages, Magic Mike and some that are hoping to break box-office records, like The Dark Knight Rises.

There are going to be several movies like The Expendables 2 that your current beau or first date might drag you to, but it does not mean that it is going to be a boring movie far away from your interests.

How You Already Know Him: The sci-fi flick I Am Number Four and the romantic fantasy drama opposite Vanessa Hudgens, known as the modern day Beauty and the Beast: Beastly. Why You Should Know About Him: Romantically linked to stars like Emma Roberts and Dianna Agron, Alex Pettyfer is making a name for himself in Hollywood. Competing with the Zac Efron types and just at age 22, we are sure we are going to see this model turned actor play more pretty boy roles in the future.
9. Matt Bomer
Where He Will Be This Summer: Magic Mike out on June 29^th How You Already Know Him: He is one of the stars of the USA Network television show White Collar and starred in In Time with Justin Timberlake. Why You Should Know About Him: As a Carnegie Mellon graduate, Matt Bomer provides us with good looks and brains to match. BuddyTV recently ranked him as #1 on their list of “TV’s Sexiest Men of 2011.” The only thing is, ladies, he already has three kids. With his wife. Nonetheless, he makes good eye candy for us!

How You Already Know Him: He is a breakout star in HBO’s True Blood, playing werewolf Alcide Herveaux. He also guest starred on One Tree Hill in season five as a bartender named Owen, Brooke’s love interested. Why You Should Know About Him: Joe Manganiello is constantly ranked in People’s Sexiest Men Alive and has also been ranked by Men’s Health as having the best summer body in 2011. His constant award-winning good looks also come with a degree from Carnegie Mellon.

Where He Will Be This Summer: The Amazing Spider-Man playing Flash Thompson out on July 3^rd How You Already Know Him: Breakout star in the CW witch series, The Secret Circle, as well as ABC Family’s TV adaptation of 10 Things I Hate About You. Why You Should Know About Him: This model turned actor is already finding himself ranked in BuddyTV’s "TV’s Sexiest Men of 2011". He considers himself to be a Renaissance man who loves painting, reading and playing the guitar, but also has a vast interest in sports such as football and basketball – dreamy. He played Tim Riggins in the television series Friday Night Lights and had his first comic-book role in X-Men Origins: Wolverine starring as Gambit. He also played the title character in John Carter. One of his first breakout movie roles was along side another summer hottie on our list, Sebastian Stan in The Covenant where we get great shots of his abs as he plays a swimmer with super powers. Why You Should Know About Him: Taylor Kitsch is constantly being portrayed throughout the media as a young actor who is on his way to becoming A-List. Although his last two movies flopped, John Carter and Battleship, Kitsch has been quoted as saying they don’t reflect his acting skills…but back to what we care most about…have you seen those abs?

Where He Will Be This Summer: Starring in Savages out on July 6^th along with Taylor Kitsch, a role that was written into the movie just for him. How You Already Know Him: Playing Teddy Montgomery in the CW hit 90210, Trevor's role is that of a macho man who turns out to be gay once he explores himself further. Why You Should Know About Him: Rumor has it that there is a movie based on Barbie that is trying to be developed and that Trevor Donovan is going to play Ken. With such a classic, great jaw-line look, we are sure that Trevor will be landing some great roles in the future.

Where He Will Be This Summer: The Expendables 2 on August 17th. Although not a chick-flick, you can pretend to be into this movie when your crush suggests to see it – in order to see Liam. How You Already Know Him: Opposite of Miley Cyrus in The Last Song and as Gale Hawthorne in summer blockbuster hit The Hunger Games. Why You Should Know About Him: Recently engaged to Miley Cyrus and crushing many girls' hearts, it is evident that Liam Hemsworth is a heartthrob to girls of all ages. Many people are speculating that it is Liam’s career that is about to take off while Miley takes a back seat. More of Liam? Who could complain? Where He Will Be This Summer: The supernatural thriller The Apparition out on August 24th opposite of Twilight star Ashley Greene. How You Already Know Him: Alongside another summer hottie, Sebastian’s breakout role was in the movie The Covenant. We got to see him on our fashion favorite Gossip Girl as Carter Baizen. He played the best friend, Bucky, in Captain America: The First Avenger. He also starred in Black Swan and Hot Tub Time Machine. Why You Should Know About Him: From television roles, to thrillers and then comedies, it is clear that Sebastian Stan is making his name known throughout various genres. He used to date Leighton Meester, and if he is up to Blair Waldorf’s standards, then we know he is a catch. He has a baby face mixed with a dark side, making it clear as to why he plays many villainous roles. We Definitely see him casted in more thrillers and comic-book movies.
2. Tom Hardy
Where He Will Be This Summer: Playing Bane in The Dark Knight Rises out on July 20th. How You Already Know Him: His breakout, award-winning role was in Inception as Eames. He also starred in the drama-war film Black Hawk Down alongside Josh Hartnett and a bunch of other really hot, bulked up guys. He also had a leading role in This Means War fighting for Reese Witherspoon alongside Chris Pine. Why You Should Know About Him: Accent alert: he is British. This means outside of his scary voice in The Dark Knight Rises, we will be swooned by Tom Hardy’s British accent. Very bulked up and good looking, we are sure there are going to be tons of roles filled out by Hardy that include him shirtless and kicking some ass.

This guy is fresh meat and this is his first feature film – and a starring role! Following the footsteps of Channing Tatum, we see him dancing his way to bigger roles soon! Why You Should Know About Him: Starring in Step Up means that Ryan really knows what he is doing when it comes to dancing, so we are excited to see what he will bring in future roles – both in dance and not.
