Probably the softest side of Hov we will ever see. As Jay-Z rode the subway to his last performance, he sat down next to an older woman and had a conversation I’m not sure he thought would go like it did.

The woman asked if Jay-Z was famous and he said “yes, but not that famous if you don’t know who I am.” Pretty humble and laid back answer. Most people know Jay-Z for his charisma and flamboyancy, but he was very smooth and kind hearted in this exchange.

Near the end of the conversation the woman asked Hov what his name was so she could remember it and he replied, “Jay, Jay-Z.” With a laugh the woman goes, “I know Jay-Z,” as they both chuckle.

Then And Now: How 2014′s Kentucky Wildcats Are Topping Michigan’s Fab Five Of 1992

Even if there’s good reason to do so, it feels borderline sacrilegious to compare John Calipari’s Kentucky Wildcats to the Fab Five freshmen of Michigan University’s 1991-92 men’s basketball team. After all, the phenomenal group of first-year students that descended upon Michigan’s Ann Arbor campus in the Fall of ’91 was the first of its […]

This Truly Is ‘The Rape Poem To End All Rape Poems’ (Video)

Today is definitely a day for slam poetry, but this — the “Rape Poem to End All Rape Poems” — is another one that’s worth a listen. The performers know you’re probably thinking: “Why another rape poem? Didn’t I just hear like three of these?” Maybe you did, but this sh*t is important, so listen up. […]

Closing The Gender Gap Is Best For Business: Women Make Businesses More Successful

Hey science, thanks for confirming what we already knew! We certainly don’t need another reason confirming women should be in more senior-level positions, or make as much money as their male counterparts. But for all those who clearly need more convincing, a recently-released report from the Anita Borg Institute for Women and Technology, a nonprofit […]
