After Kanye West suffered an abrupt mental breakdown following intense on-stage rants and the cancellation of his remaining dates for his Saint Pablo Tour, fans questioned what caused the rapper's current state of health.

There have been reports his post-show hospitalization was caused by lack of sleep and dehydration, however, recent updates claim his prescription medication might be the culprit for his current mental state.

Sources connected with West's family allegedly told TMZ his inconsistent pattern of taking his meds caused his breakdown.

Apparently, the medication he's been taking for a long time has been helping control certain psychological isses, but he stopped taking it stringently after his wife, Kim Kardashian, was robbed at gunpoint.

It's been reported West usually takes his prescribed dosage on time with the correct amount of pills, but the exact changes he's made in recent weeks remains unknown.

During his hospitalization, doctors were reportedly able to monitor his medication, but apparently it's now up to him to continue taking the correct dosage since being released from the hospital.

According to Ryan Seacrest, the Kardashian-West family is finally beginning to see the light at the end of the tunnel.

The family friend and producer of "Keeping Up with the Kardashians" spoke with PEOPLE and gave an update on Friday night at 102.7 KIIS FM's Jingle Ball. He said,

I've spoken to Kim. I've not spoken to Kanye, but I think that things are going better now.

Hopefully, Seacrest's prediction is true because I'm not sure how much more anguish the Kardashian-Wests can take in one year.

Time will only tell, though, because the family is still making their way through testing times.

Apparently, Kanye has been living separately from Kim and the rest of his family in a rental house following his hospitalization.

He is still reportedly receiving some outpatient treatment, but if he's not under 24-hour surveillance, it will remain up to him to stay consistent with his prescribed medication.
