Kanye West Really Met Ex-CIA Director George Tenet

Kanye West Really Met Ex-CIA Director George Tenet

Since the beginning of his career, Kanye West has never been one to bite his tongue about his personal life. And that includes everything from his personal trials and tribulations to, well, meeting the former head of the CIA.

The latter boast was spit on Cruel Summer banger “Clique,” which features Yeezy trading verses with Big Sean and Jay-Z.

The line in particular is below.

“Yeah, I’m talking business, we talking CIA/I’m talking George Tenet, I seen him the other day/He asked me about my Maybach, think he had the same/Except mine tinted and his might have been rented.”

To find out whether this rhyme was true or not, the folks at Wired’s Danger Room spoke with Tenet spokesman Bill Harlow.

He revealed that Yeezy and the ex-CIA director did in fact run into each other a “few months ago” in New York City. Harlow then said that Tenet and Kanye didn’t actually talk about Maybachs, but hey, it made for a good rhyme.

‘Forrest Gump’ As Directed By Wes Anderson Is Perfect (Video)

Wes Anderson, he’s so hot right now. It seems the new wave of parodies for the time being is everything Wes Anderson (don’t worry, “Frozen” parodies aren’t going anywhere). We saw the “Zoolander” scene a few days ago inspired by Anderson, and a few weeks before that we saw a beautiful compilation of his symmetry. Now, […]

Singularity At The Cinema: ‘Transcendence,’ ‘Her’ And Fighting Against The Future

“Transcendence” isn’t a very good movie. It has the setup to be a thought-provoking, sci-fi, action flick, without any real action or thought of which to speak. It’s essentially the last 20 minutes of “Her,” spread glacially over a two-hour-and-twenty-minute run time. The biggest problem with “Transcendence,” however, is that it foregrounds and obsesses over its technology at the […]

10 Telltale Signs You’re Addicted To The Cigarettes

There are countless vices in which one may indulge. For me, cigarettes are it. What makes smoking so egregious is the masochism involved; the conscious, deliberate neglect of one’s health. It’s not like the old days when TV would tell you cigarettes are healthy (“More Doctors Smoke Camels”). It’s 2014. We are a generation beat […]

Why Stephen Colbert Is a Smart ‘Late Show’ Pick

On the face of it, David Letterman and Stephen Colbert don’t seem to have that much in common. Perpetually cranky and never much of a people person, Letterman grew up in the Midwest with dreams of getting into broadcasting or comedy, maybe as a standup. A vocal Catholic with an ebullient personality, Colbert was raised […]
