A young student named Michael Pollack from Vanderbilt University made all Long Islanders proud with his rendition of ‘New York State of Mind’ with Billy Joel.

Pollack, who attended Roslyn High School, raised his hand up and boldly asked music legend Billy Joel if he could perform with him.

When Joel accepted, Pollack rushed to the stage and went to the piano. What happened next was shocking. Pollack, who has been playing the piano for most of his life got up there and did his thing in a crazy way. He killed it.

Even Billy Joel was speechless from the young man’s performance and after they were done he told the crowd that they would be hearing Pollack’s name again. The video of the performance has gone viral and already has over a million views.

Based on his pure skills as a pianist, I see a few Grammy awards in Michael Pollack’s future.
