Taylor Swift's Lookalike Makes Thousands Just By Posing As The Pop Star

by Gillian Fuller

Rose Nicholas has us seeing double.

The 23-year-old bears an uncanny resemblance to Taylor Swift -- and she's becoming a celebrity in her own right because of it.

Nicholas, a retail worker, was first made aware of her likeness to the singer when she was 17 years old.  But it wasn't until a trip to New York in 2013 that Nicholas realized just how similar she and Swift looked.

The England native told Daily Mail,

I went to work and travel in the USA for four months, and that's when it really blew up for me. Taylor's hit album Red had recently come out, and now, not a day went by where I didn't hear the singer's name… In Times Square, it felt like the paparazzi were surrounding me. People refused to believe me when I said I wasn't Taylor Swift. I was bombarded by groups of tourists, desperate to get a photo or video. It was overwhelming.

Later that year, after photos of Nicholas went viral on Flickr, she signed with an agency who scouted her as a professional Taylor Swift impersonator.

Today, Nicholas makes over $600 per gig posing as the singer.

She usually has at least one job per month, including a recent appearance with an Ed Sheeran lookalike.

Nicholas said, while often overwhelming, the gig can be really rewarding.

She said, "Generally, I don't mind taking selfies with people, especially when it's a young Taylor Swift fan with their mum... It makes their day.”

Nicholas is represented by Costello Entertainments.
