She is one of Hollywood’s most successful plus-sized actresses, with an Emmy award and Oscar nomination under her belt. But Melissa McCarthy has admitted she occasionally wishes she could inhabit a slimmer frame.

‘Sometimes I wish I were just magically a size six and I never had to give [my weight] a single thought,’ the Bridesmaids actress tells the latest issue of the U.S. edition of Good Housekeeping.

‘But I am weirdly healthy, so I don’t beat myself up about it – it wouldn’t help, and I don’t want to pass that on to my girls.’

The star, who has two daughters Vivian, five, and two-year-old Georgette with her husband actor Ben Falcone, plays tennis and does Pilates to keep fit and leads a healthy lifestyle.

‘I don’t really know why I’m not thinner than I am,’ she says. ‘I don’t really drink soda; I don’t have a sweet tooth, and we eat healthfully at home.’

However, the popular star, who is currently designing a range of clothing for plus-sized woman, says she doesn’t know many women of any size who are completely happy with their appearance.

‘Pretty much everyone I know, no matter what size, is trying some system,’ she says.

‘Even when someone gets to looking like she should be so proud of herself, instead she’s like, “I could be another three pounds less; I could be a little taller and have bigger lips.” Where does it end?’

That attitude, she says, has led her to develop a positive mindset.

‘You just have to say, “It’s pretty damn good. I am right here at the moment and I’m OK with it. I’ve got other things to think about.”‘

How Bart Simpson Inspired A Generation Of Guys To Not Give A F*ck

Bart Simpson is the Plato to every young man’s Aristotle. He’s a teacher, one whose philosophies every boy became a student of, the first time we saw him pull out that slingshot, some time in the mid-90s. Whether it be his desire to rebel, the absence of a positive father figure in his life or […]

Artist Perfectly Captures Robin Williams’ Essence In Illustrations Of His Characters

An artist by the name of Carrie Winiker created some pretty amazing illustrations of Robin Williams’ most famous roles. Winiker made the stylized drawings following the late actor’s death. For some reason, each character doesn’t have a nose. Maybe that’s just the style of this particular artist? Regardless, it’s a cool way to remember some of Williams’ greatest […]

The […]

Confused Cats Hate Feminism, But Their Reasons Are Pretty Legit (Photos)

A new Tumblr called “Confused Cats Against Feminism” seems to be a response to the baffling #WomenAgainstFeminism hashtag, but it needs no real reason to exist. Photos of cats holding signs that say exactly why they don’t need feminism is truly what the Internet needed. Among other reasons, cats don’t need feminism because, instead, they […]
