Miley Cyrus has long been a champion for equality and the LGBTQ community, and her latest project proves just how much she truly cares for the cause.

Via her Instagram account, which has 22.2 million followers, the popstar launched #InstaPride, a series through which non-cisgender folks can share their stories.

Earlier today, Cyrus introduced the new initiative in a post.

She wrote,

I'm launching with #InstaPride today, in partnership with @Instagram, to share stories of transgender and gender expansive people from around the country. Over the next 2 weeks, you'll meet them and the people in their lives who support them, as we highlight their stories of resilience.

Cyrus herself will serve as the photographer for the series, which is being promoted in part through the singer's own charity, The Happy Hippie Foundation.

The singer, who recently opened up about her own struggles with gender identity, is inviting users to share their stories for a chance to be featured in the empowering series.

Miley's first post introducing the campaign racked up nearly 250,000 likes in a matter of hours.

The first to be featured is Leo (@isupersheng), a self-described feminist trans man.

He's been transitioning over the past year; you can read his story here.
