It has been a stressful summer for Rosie O’Donnell and her new wife Michelle Rounds. But the 50-year-old, who revealed last week she had suffered a cardiac arrest, looked healthy and active as she joined her children and spouse in a box at the US Tennis Open tournament today.
Wearing a baggy royal blue t-shirt, Rosie even participated in the Mexican wave as it went around the Arthur Ashe Stadium in New York City.
‘This crazy summer has taken me into uncharted territory, into mornings that begin at 7 long walks and vegetables, ‘ Rosie told her fans via her website, referring her to her new vegan diet as prescribed by Dr. Caldwell Esselstyn, who former president Bill Clinton also relied upon for his own health transformation.
And it appears that Rosie’s new lifestyle change is working as she tweeted on August 25th that she has already lost 25lbs after just 10 days.
As proof of her new eating patterns, she’s also started posted photos of her meals for others to become inspired by.
The opinionated gay rights advocate married her fianceé just days before Michelle underwent surgery in June for Desmoid tumors.
The rare disease, affecting only three in one million people, can cause life threatening problems or even death if allowed to grow unchecked near vital organs.
‘We married in private before [Michelle's] surgery, just the [two] of us,’ Rosie shared on her site. When we r both well enough will have the wedding of r dreams surrounded by those we cherish.’
‘Thankful for the love and support so many have given us during these trying times,’ she continued ‘Including all of u stranger-friends connected thru invisible strands of wi-fi.’
