President Obama and first lady Michelle Obama made a taped appearance on ABC’s Good Morning America congratulating Robin Roberts on her return after a six-month battle with a serious blood disorder.

“You’ve been an inspiration to all of us,” the president said.

Michelle Obama, who will be interviewed by Roberts next week, said her family has been “praying for you and rooting for you every step of the way.”

Roberts began the broadcast with a sense of relief: “I have been waiting 174 days to say this: Good morning, America!”
