After years on the nightclub dance floor, Paris Hilton is trying to reinvent herself in the booth. The party-loving heiress, 31, will make her DJ debut on June 23rd at the Pop Music Festival in Sao Paulo, Brazil.  The 30,000-capacity festival will feature performances by Jennifer Lopez and Kelly Clarkson, followed by Hilton.

Hilton is excited to DJ for the first time in front of a large crowd, she told Billboard.

I have been a part of the music scene and club scene since I was 15. It’s something I have been passionate about and have come to respect very much. I am very excited to share all of my hard work with the world.

Hilton has appeared on the international EDM circuit at clubs and festivals with her boyfriend Afrojack, a DJ and producer.  She has made several appearances on the nightlife scene in Miami this past March, and stood in the booth beside Afrojack for many of his performances, including the Ultra Music Festival which held over 50,000 people.

Although Hilton has never DJ-ed publicly before, she has put out some of her own dance music.  “Stars Are Blind,” the lead single off her 2006 debut album was remixed by EDM stars like Chus & Ceballos, Tracy Young, and The Scumfrog.  The single quickly hit No. 1 on Dance Club/Play Songs.  She also collaborated with DJ/producer Manufactured Superstars in “Drunk Text” last year.

Sources said that her set will include “custom-made remixes of the best tracks.”  Hilton is excited about her new gig, and promises that “it is going to be the first of many!”
