I know nothing about the creation of our universe or why the birds sing or why no one told Julianne Hough that dressing in black face for Halloween that one time was a bad idea, but I do know that none of us deserve Rihanna, for she is a gift blessed upon our lives and we should be eternally grateful.

In the past, Rihanna has been the main focus of the Met Gala because she simultaneously is so, so extra and the most laid back looking person any of us have ever seen. Similar to the creation of our universe, I cannot explain how or why.

This year, the theme of the 2017 Met Gala is Rei Kawakubo, the Japanese designer and creative director and founder of Comme des Garçons and Bad Girl RiRi, of course, showed up in an outfit only she can pull off.

Feast your eyes on Rihanna's 2017 Met Gala elaborate ensemble:

Rihanna's obviously no stranger to the lavish outfits of the Met Gala. In 2015, she wore this tarp-sized Disney Princess gown that even Emma Watson couldn't pull off with such graceful ease.

In 2014, she wore this two-piece, if-I-could-wear-it-on-my-wedding-day-I-would white ensemble.

Staying true to theme, Rihanna was one of the only attendees to show up in an outfit from Rei Kawakubo's Comme des Garçons Fall 2016 collection.

The outfit, although loofah-esq upon first glance, was true to Kawakubo's vision -- an anti-fashion statement complete with hundreds of fabric circles and a bare midriff.

Rihanna paired the high-fashion look with tight bun, heavy eye makeup and strappy, pink, thigh-high heels.

Moral of this story: Live your life with the confident ease of Rihanna, who can convince the world that anything she puts on her body work, work, work, work, works, even if it looks like something your younger cousin made with construction paper in third grade.
