The 30-year-old actress and model appeared on “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” for the first time on Tuesday and shared how she rose to fame and how she lived before she became famous.

Spoiler alert: This includes an inflatable mattress she shared with her dog.

Spoiler alert part two: I currently live on a pile of rags behind a Benihana so stop bragging, Ruby.

It’s true, the now famous Ruby Rose, friends to Taylor Swift and Justin Bieber, started with a blow-up mattress from Target and a steady bought of unemployment.

The Australian native was contacted by the casting director of “OITNB” after her short film “Break Free” went viral. Ruby Rose said,

Imagine not getting any work for two years and then getting to audition for the greatest show in the world.

When she filmed “Break Free,” she couldn’t get a manager, an agent or an audition.

So, she started making short films “as a way of being able to give myself something to do and to study my craft.”

Ruby was only supposed to appear in three episodes, but… I mean, look at her???

Her character was extended for nine full episodes because duh.

She said about working on “OITNB,”

[The cast and crew of OITNB] is such an amazing family unit of such supportive women, It was one of the greatest experiences of my life.
