Ryan Gosling Sends Flowers To The Girlfriend Of Late Vine Star

by Emily Arata

Ryan Gosling wasn't friends with Ryan McHenry, but the two men are inextricably united by a cereal-themed Vine.

After 27-year-old McHenry died of bone cancer on Sunday, Gosling sent McHenry's mourning girlfriend flowers.

Marie Claire reports McHenry's partner, Joanne McGuinness, received a bouquet of memorial flowers from the actor who'd only virtually interacted with McHenry a few times over the years.

The man created a Vine called "Ryan Gosling Won't Eat His Cereal," and he held spoonfuls of cereal up to the screen as Gosling, in various movie roles, turned away.

The news of the flowers comes after Gosling tweeted a Vine of him finally eating cereal, with the caption,

My heart goes out to all of Ryan McHenry's family and friends. Feel very lucky to have been apart of his life in some small way.

McHenry and Gosling shared a comedic relationship after the Vine became popular.

Reporters even asked Gosling about his opinion on the breakfast food.

After McHenry's death, Gosling reached out to his girlfriend. In a Facebook post written to McHenry, she said, "Looks like you are best buds!"
