Fans Want To Know Who Sarah Hyland's Dating After Her Breakup From Dominic Sherwood

Sarah Hyland and Dominic Sherwood were one of my favorite Hollywood couples. Then, they just called it quits. No Twitter rant, no rumors of cheating — just a civil, quiet breakup. I NEED DETAILS. For those of you wondering: Is Sarah Hyland single? Like, really single? The answer is… yes.

The split between Hyland and Sherwood came as a shock. As a couple, these two never shied away from the spotlight, but somehow never had bad headlines in the tabloids. How did they do it? Sultry unicorn magic. Actually, IDK.

Hyland and Sherwood starting dating in March 2014, a few months after meeting on the set of Vampire Academy. Their romance blossomed and they continued dating for two years, until their recent breakup in Aug. 2017. According to two sources from E! News,

It's genuinely mutual and amicable and they truly remain friends.

Sigh. Hyland and Sherwood have matching arrow tattoos and share a few pets. Their two dogs, Boo and Barkley, run the house with their cat, Rajah. WHY ARE THEY GIVING UP ON THIS?

Hyland also recently made her debut on Sherwood's show, Shadowhunters, as the Seelie Queen. This was a big deal to fans. Hyland as the fairy queen who ruined the love triangle that was Jace, Clary, and Simon made everyone (including Sherwood) swoon.

After working with Hyland, Sherwood gushed,

Everyone fell in love with her on set. It was a real joy … She's been coming in since season one, coming to visit me. Having her on set as an actress was just phenomenal. What's nice about it is when we get to set, it wasn't so much boyfriend-girlfriend, it was two actors.

While they may have acted professionally, their on-screen chemistry is next-level. I know I can't wait until Season 3 to see more of Hyland. Career accomplishments aside, Sherwood and Hyland have been together through good and bad moments.

Hyland had to have a kidney transplant in 2012 due to a battle with kidney dysplasia. Recently, in the past 12 months, her health has suffered. After appearing in Dirty Dancing: The New ABC Musical Event on May 24, Hyland took to Twitter to clap back at people commenting on her weight.

I haven't had the greatest year. Maybe one day I'll talk about it but for now, I'd like my privacy. I will say that this year has brought a lot of changes and with that, physical changes.

I have been told that I can't work out. Which, for me, is very upsetting. I love to be STRONG. (I'll be using that word a lot) Strength is everything. Being strong has gotten me where I am. Both mentally and physically. I am not a fan of ‘being skinny.'

‘Eat a burger,' ‘your head is bigger than your body and that's disgusting.' And you're right! … No one's head should be bigger than their body but considering I've basically been on bed rest for the past few months, I've lost a lot of muscle mass. My circumstances have put me in a place where I'm not in control of what my body looks like. So I strive to be as healthy as possible, as everyone should.

She explained that her severe weight loss and loss of muscle mass is because of the medication she has to take that she says is saving her life. She did not reveal what specific health issues she is fighting through.

Sherwood stepped up to defend his then-girlfriend by telling ET Online,

[I'm] incredibly proud. As the public knows, Sarah's going through quite a bit at the moment. For anyone to be small-minded enough to try and close her into a space that they don't understand is ridiculous. The way she deals with it is incredible.

Although Hyland has had a tough year, she's definitely coming out on top. According to her social media pages, she's back to exercising regularly, hanging out with friends, and being her overall ball-of-sunshine self.

While I'm sad Hyland and Sherwood called it quits, sometimes things just don't work out. From all the love they gave each other over two years, I'm sure they remain close friends. LOVE YOU BOTH, CALL ME.
