Shawn Mendes Revealed His Celebrity Status Makes Sex 'Impossible' For Him

One would assume the opposite to be true, but apparently sex is impossible for Shawn Mendes because he is so famous.

The 18-year-old "Stitches" singer spoke openly to Billboard about sex and hooking up with older ladies.

While he has a number of female fans, he tries not to let the attention get to his head. In fact, he tries to stay away from dating any fan. He explains,

You're one person. You can't let them take everything from you. Because they will -- not in a malicious way. They just love you. You have to be careful.

He adds,

Being a sex ­symbol isn't cool unless you're in love with a girl and she calls you a sex symbol.

Despite becoming a bit disenchanted with being a celebrity, Mendes proves to be every bit of the sensitive and genuine guy he's made out to be.

When describing the girls who have come and gone in his life, he said,

The second I feel about a girl the way I feel about music is when I know.

Shawn Mendes' newest album, "Illuminate," drops September 23. Until then, we're wishing him better luck getting laid.
